907.1 | SET WATCH FILE | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Mon Jun 22 1992 15:25 | 16 |
| Diana,
Try the SET WATCH FILE command:
$ SET PROC/PRIV=CMKRNL
$ SET WATCH FILE/CLASS=MAJOR
$ ALLI
$ SET WATCH FILE/CLASS=NOALL
Go back through the 5 million lines of output on your workstation
scroll bar and see if you can see which shareable it was trying to get
to just before it failed.
Graham
PS 10:1 it's got CDA in its name....

907.2 | Notes clash - leaving in for the language guess | BUFFER::VICKERS | Rearranging the DEChairs | Mon Jun 22 1992 15:41 | 14 |
| Given that you have verified that the the usual suspects have been
installed and a normal startup performed it may be that you will be
forced to use the dreaded (and largely undocumented):
$ SET WATCH FILE/CLASS=MAJOR
DCL command. This will display all of the files accessed so you'll get
all sorts of 'useful' information.
My guess would be that the account in question is using a language
which was not installed.
Good luck,
don

907.3 | LCI$*.exe files | IOSG::HUNTD | Only a snowflake is perfect | Mon Jun 22 1992 16:13 | 9 |
| thanks both of you. Now I know about the Watch File command!
I discovered it was the LCI$*.exe files that were missing.
I also had to define the logicals.
All is working fine now.
