878.0. "Error: continuation record not found... in TRM" by LASCPM::BARNETTE (Guerrilla in the midst) Wed Jun 17 1992 02:33

Whilst examining the log file following a run of the TRM
housekeeping procedure, I encountered the following error:

Error: continuation record not found when cont_flag set:
    	First record-key = OA$SHARE92:ZSYUJV62O.WPL
    	Continuation record-key =OA$SHARE92:ZSZKH8H2Y.WPL

(There were many other errors of this type.)

The log file goes on to indicate that phase 3 of the procedure
cannot be run due to errors in phase 1/2.

What is the proper action to take to resolve such errors?

These errors will not stop TRM going into Phase 3. If you're running
the latest version then the log file will indicate which errors prevent
TRM going into Phase 3. On the assumption that you're running an older
version look into the log file and check for "user logged in" errors,
or failures to open DOCDB files. If you can't see them then post the
    log file.

What version of ALL-IN-1 are you running and to what patch level? On
the later versions of TRM the continuation record problems will be
repaired by TRM, but not on older versions.

    Cheers

878.2Oh, yeah...SWAM2::BARNETTE_NEWed Jun 17 1992 16:369

There was one user who had a blank directory field, now that
I think about it. I'll fix that and try running it again
    	when I get a chance. BTW, ALL-IN-1 V2.4, patch K603 under
    	VMS V5.4-3.

    	Thanks!

878.3Request for more informationGIDDAY::SETHIMan from DownunderTue Jul 07 1992 08:4314
    G'day,

I have a customer who has K601 and K602 installed on his system and is
getting the problem stated in note .0.

If the customer installs K603 and then K605 would that solve his
problem ? He has been told that it takes up to 12 hours to install
and does not solve the problem. I just want a confirmation that the
problem is solved. If it's the case that the problem is not solved is
it solved under Version 3.0 ?

    Thanks

    Hi Sunil,

You need K603 to get the fix that will cause incorrect continuation
flags to be repaired. The fix is also, of course, in V3.0.

    Cheers

    Sunil,

And K603 doesn't take anyway near 12 hours to install - 1 hour more
likely. K605 doesn't buy you anything if you don't have the WPS-PLUS v4
option installed but you might like to spend an additional 20-30
    minutes putting K604 on.
