AUTOMATIC MAIL TO DISTRIBUTIONLIST

I have a customer who has written a script for
sending a mail to a public distributionlist after
updating a common document. He can't get this
script to work if he use distributionlist in the
addressee field but if he writes a username in-
stead it works just fine! 
Is there maybe a restriction here to use distri-
butionlist in the "Mail to" field??

    You have to do a:
    
    	MAIL EXPAND_DIST_LIST
    
    after adding the DL as an addressee.
