807.0. "WPS base mail between 2.4 & 3.0" by PJWL::LAMB (Peter Lamb - GSG Santa Clara MAIL=MUTTON::LAMB) Thu Jun 04 1992 16:10

Hello,

A customer has a requirement to transfer revisable WPS
documents between two different systems. One system
is ALL-IN-1 starter V2.4 and the other would be ALL-IN-1
classic V3.0. Is there likely to be any problems with
mailing revisable WPS files between these two systems?

Note: ALL-IN-1 starter is still at 2.4 (when will this
go to 3.0?

Thanks!

Peter

Hi,

Providing that you don't make use of any of the new features in WPS-PLUS V4 on
the V3.0 system, there should be no problem interchanging documents between
ALL-IN-1 V3 and ALL-IN-1 Starter V2.4. If your documents on ALL-IN-1 V3 do have
WPS-PLUS V4 features, these simply won't work on the Starter system (which has
WPS-PLUS V3.x). You'll still be able (I think) to read and edit the rest of
the document though.

Scott's statement about sending WPS-PLUS v4.x documents also
applies to ALL-IN-1 v2.4 systems that haven't installed the WPS-PLUS
v4 option kit and of course also to ALL-IN-1 v2.3 and STARTER v1.0
systems - that is you lose the new attributes.
