773.0. "Can OA$MTI_TRNS be set for just certain groups of users?" by KERNEL::SIMPSONR (fred) Mon Jun 01 1992 17:20

  Hello,

Does anybody know if OA$MTI_TRNS can be set for groups of ALL-IN-1 users
instead of everybody i.e add the logical to their process table rather than
  the system table.

  Regards,
  Richard Simpson (SSC).

it seems to work OK when set for ONE person, so it should be OK for
    many users.

BUT there could easily be a difference between sending First class and
second class (2nd running in POSTMASTER space).

Check on the /EXECUTIVE as well....

I may just be showing my ignorance but isn't OA$MTI_TRNS used to determin if
translation to ASCII will take place when building NBS files?

If so then it will only work on a per-user basis when they send Express mail,
anything that goes via the sender to MR will use the value of the logical
that the sender batch job finds (typically SYSTEM logical, but you could
define a group or process logical if you wanted).
