| after more investigations, there is WordPerfect and the integration kit
V5.1 installed on this system.
I've checked the logical SMBSRVSHR (not defined), and IMG$SHRLIB
,DDIF$VIEWSHR in SYS$COMMON:[SYSLIB]

689.5 | Could be a WordPerfect problem | GIDDAY::SETHI | Man from Downunder | Tue May 19 1992 02:45 | 20 |
| G'day Monique,
>- When he try the @OA$BUILD_SHARE:OA$FORMATTER OA$, the error message
>SEND_JBC OPERATION ERROR
>-When he try RUN SYS$SYSTEM:OA$FORMATTER.EXE, there is a dump register
When you do a @OA$BUILD_SHARE:OA$FORMATTER OA$, put a
/output=whatever.txt. This will give you more information the SEND_JBC
OPERATION ERROR is just a part of the error message, the next line will
give you more information BUT not always.
Also find out what version/patch of WordPerfect for ALL-IN-1 he has
installed. To do this enter WPC_USER_OPTIONS at any ALL-IN-1 menu,
note the date, Version number and in round brackets it will have the
patch A or B etc.
The problem sounds like a WordPerfect problem I have come across
sometime back and I think it was patch (B).

689.6 | It's a WORDPERFECT problem !!! | SWTHOM::LELIARD | | Mon May 25 1992 18:39 | 18 |
| Hi,
I've take the problem, and do what you said.
WPC_USER_OPTIONS does nothing.
But I know the WORDPERFECT Integration for ALL-IN-1 is version 2.0.
We have renamed the SITELINK.COM and relink ALL-IN-1.
One error message : UNDEFINED SYMBOL WPCOA_INITIALISE_STUB but the
OA$FORMATTER start.
I think there's a problem with the integration. Perhaps we need to
deintegrate the WORDPERFECT integration and reinstall it with a trace.
Other idea ?
Thank you.
Chantal.

689.7 | Check SCSNODE in modparams is defined and in SYSGEN | GIDDAY::SETHI | Man from Downunder | Tue May 26 1992 04:19 | 10 |
| G'day Chantel,
Going back to .0 have you checked that SCSNODE has been defined in
MODPARAMS.DAT ? The SEND_JBC OPERATION ERROR is caused by not having
it defined. One possible rteason for it.
I'll get back to you on the WPCOA_INITIALIZE_STUB problem when I try
some a few things here.

Are you in ALL-IN-1 when you enter WPC_USER_OPTIONS ?

NO try DEintegrating then REintegrate first.

689.9 | UNDEFINED SYMBOL WPCOA_INITIALISE_STUB | GIDDAY::SETHI | Man from Downunder | Wed May 27 1992 06:43 | 12 |
| G'day Chantal,
>We have renamed the SITELINK.COM and relink ALL-IN-1.

If you run A1LNKDRV manually from any directory other than
OA$SITE_BUILD_SHARE it will not incorporate WordPerfect entries in
SITELINK2x.COM. The A1LNKDRV only looks for SITELINK in the default
directory. Therefore set def OA$SITE_BUILD_SHARE and not OA$BUILD.

689.10 | End of this problem ??? | SWTHOM::LELIARD | | Thu Jun 25 1992 16:28 | 22 |

Hi Sunil,
After more investigation I asked the customer to replace the shareable
image : SYS$COMMON:[SYSLIB]SMBSRVSHR.EXE
in the shareable image library : SYS$COMMON:[SYSLIB]IMAGELIB.OLB.
The command is : $ LIB/REPLACE IMAGELIB.OLB SMBSRVSHR.EXE
Then we relinked ALL-IN-1, no error messages where displayed and the
OA$FORMATTER queue started.
But there's a trouble with customer. He told us he integrated
WORDPERFECT with ALL-IN-1 but WPC_USER_OPTIONS does nothing.
I told him to execute (reexecute ?) the integration
(WPCORP$OA20_INTEGRATE.COM) and to call me if there's a problem.
After that I was on holidays but apparently he doesn't call me. So ?
I hope this would help you, Sunil. Don't hesitate to contact me if you
want more information.
Chantal.

689.11 | Did he execute WPCORP_OA20_INIT? | WAYLND::HOWARD | Our business is computers not money | Fri Jun 26 1992 20:58 | 19 |
| the WPC_USER_OPTIONS option is simply calling a form. It doesn't
reflect whether the link has worked, rather it reflects the fact that
the form isn't in an open library. You're supposed to have special
lines in OAINI.SCP:
! The WPCORP_OA20_INIT script must be run to use the WPCORP Integration
.FUNCTION DO WPCORP_OA20_INIT
If this yields error messages, then the integration probably didn't
work. The integration with WP takes quite a few steps, which are
certainly not obvious. You need to follow the documentation very
carefully. After I did an upgrade, the WPC_USER_OPTIONS showed the
version of WP as null. Their hotline to me to deintegrate and
reintrate.
Since WordPerfect defines its own SMBSRVSHR logical, it doesn't really
care what you have in the standard VMS version of the file.

| Had almost the same problem. OA$FORMATTER termination
after VMS upgrade to 5.5-1 + CSCPAT_1012...
start oa$formatter produced: FNF, file not found
IMG$SHRLIB.EXE was missing. Don't ask me why.
CDA$ACCESS.EXE was also in the image list.
No DECwindows installed.
After deletion of CDA$ACCESS.EXE, relink OA$FORMATTER
fixed it.

689.14 | VMS 5.5 upgrade deletes IMG$SHRLIB.EXE | UTRTSC::SCHOLLAERT | Alfa ready | Mon Sep 21 1992 14:22 | 16 |
|
Today another customer reported the "FNF, file not found"
after upgrading to VMS 5.5....
The VMS 5.5 upgrade deletes this file (customer found
it on his backup) . Don't ask me why.
So if the customer has, for some reason,
a formatter linked with CDA$ACCESS.EXE
and IMG$SHRLIB.EXE and does not (re)install DECwindows,
this problem occurs.
Regards,
Jan
