685.0. "Is WPS-PLUS included automatically?" by CGOOA::HOMMEN () Thu May 14 1992 01:46

    Hi:

    A local client has just received their V3.0 ALL-IN-1 update kit, and
    LO, no WPS-PLUS! They were quite surprised, because all their previous
    updates always included WPS-PLUS.

    WPS-PLUS always used to come with ALL-IN-1 in previous versions;
    is this still the case with ALL-IN-1 V3.0 or must you have
    WPS-PLUS as a separate item on your contract in order to get the
    updates?

    Thanks in advance for clarifying this issue.

    Krys,

    Nope it is there what makes them think it isn't?

    Take a look at saveset A1030.B for the LCIxxx executables.
    and saveset A1030.D for the KOALA object libaries amongst others...

    Are they are mag tape or Tk or CD customer?

685.2It must be a mis-ship then?CGOOA::HOMMENThu May 14 1992 02:3210
    Well, they think it isn't there because they didn't get any books or
    update sheets for WPS-PLUS. I'm getting this second hand so I don't
    know what else is missing.

    Their distribution is TK.

    So then, they should get it if they have ALL-IN-1 as the single line
    item on their contract and if they didn't they have been mis-shipped?

    Krys,

    I have the TK kit (and only a few hours ago the CD kit) and in the
    parts listing for the TK I have:

    AA-PHFVB-TE WPSPLUS A1 USER REF MANUAL
    AA-PHFWB-TE WPSPLUS A1 PRINT CHAR MANUAL
    AA-PN0AA-TE WPS-PLUS MINI REFERENCE

    So it would be a good idea for the customer to actually open his/her
    box and check again in case they missed these amongst the 50 other
    bits of 'media' crammed into the box.

    P.S For the Notes Police (hello GAP) the mispellings of ALL-IN-1 and
        WPS-PLUS are on the parts listing from SSB and are not
        as such made by me.

    Regards,

    I expect they used A! instead of ALL-IN-1 in order to get the titles to
    fit into the space allowed (there is a limit; I forget what it is).

    I'll avoid the argument about A1 being an acceptable abbreviation :-)
