One of my customers is developing a "Suggestion Box" application and wants to allow suggestions to be anonymous. We want to suppress the 2 lines of the From: in the message header as it is printed by the MAIL READ function. We have modified the boilerplate to suppress this info but I still appears. We need the From: address to send a reply, we just dont want it to display in the header. I'm open to any suggestions on how to accomplish this. Steve

Steve, I built a suggestion box application back when I was a customer. We didn't concern ourselves with anonimity (sp?), but I may be able to offer a few hints anyway. Since were in the same office, why don't you drop by my desk the next time you're in. With respect to the address showing up durring the read after you removed it from the template, I don't think that is possible. I would suggest that perhaps the read is not invoking the modified template. If you have not moved the template to live, did you remember to modify the search order so the development area text elements would be found? Which template did you modify? How are you displaying the suggestion, from what menu? Joe

Not only the search order, but do you (most likely) have the mail templates built into the .TXL? Try setting OA$TXL_SEARCH_LAST to a 1 and see if that works. What you're doing is correct; I just don't think you're calling the modified template. F

Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't tried setting OA$TXL_SEARCH_LAST to 1 yet. I'll give it a try. Steve |
