659.0. "Internal install bombs" by MELKOR::RUDDY (Home is where overhead is) Fri May 08 1992 21:53

    Hello,

    Just a quick clarifying question.

I am attempting an internal Installation of 3.0 at the Santa Clara
    Training Center.

The installation failed initially with invalid license, license release
    date invalid.

In the notes file I had read that Internal Sites might need a new
license. So I deleted the old one and went thru VTX to get a new
license, this license had a release date of 8-MAY-1993.

Now the Installation fails again, with the same message. I then decided
to get another license for ALLIN1-UI-AMERICAN-ENG.

Am I using an incorrect product code? Has anybody else ever went thru
this. THis installation is on cluster, already running 2.4
    successfully.

    Thanks

    Mia,

Please see many other notes in this conference.

The license to use is called ALLIN1 so you are getting the wrong one
    from VTX

    Hello,

The orginal license that failed was ALLIN1. And that did fail with
    invalid product release date.

I deleted the ALLIN-UI-AMERICAN-ENG one, now I'm back just to ALLIN1,
    but it still doesn't work.

The license facility registers and loads the license, but the
Installation just dies and says that it is an invalid product release
date. Maybe I should get rid of the product release date?

659.3Not ALL-IN-1, but VMSMELKOR::RUDDYHome is where overhead isTue May 12 1992 19:159
    Sorry,

The problem is VMS not ALL-IN-1. Apparently some weird things have
happened with licenses in V5.5 of VMS. I eventually followed some
advice and unloaded and loaded the license again, it worked!

So again, it is not ALL-IN-1 that had a problem.
