658.0. "Mail Directory Search" by VAXSPO::ANDRE () Fri May 08 1992 21:40

    	I have a network with many nodes , all of them with ALL-IN-1 and
   Message Router .
    	One of these nodes is the master node and the world search node
    	In the other nodes all is working fine , with one exception .
    	When I'm using ALL-IN-1 in one of these nodes (not the W.S.N.) ,
    and I try to do a Search Other Mail directories , I select the user ,
    I receive the message on the 24th line ( select your option ... or
    something like that) but there is nothing in my screen . And if I
    use other terminal to do the same job , I get the data on my first
    terminal .
    	It looks that I have a kind of lock when I search in DDS , and the
    next search ends that .
    	Someone can help me ??
    	Thanks.

    Andre,

       Try using the SMD (Search Mail Directory) function instead of SOM.
    We use this option and it provides relatively fast searches.

658.2it's not a long searchVAXSPO::ANDRETue May 12 1992 20:0811

    	Steve,

    	I tried to use the SMD function , but the problem is still
    happening . I have to execute other search to complete the first .
    	It's really strange . But as soon as I do another search in other
    terminal , my first terminal receive the data on the screen .
    	It's not a matter of time (long search) , it's something wrong.

658.3Try asking in FORTY2::MAILBUSIOSG::SHOVEDave Shove -- REO-D/3CWed May 13 1992 12:356
    This must be some kind of locking problem between the DDS "clients".

    As this is mostly DDS code, not ours, you might possibly get some help
    in the FORTY2::MAILBUS conference.

    	Thanks , Dave . I'll try the MAILBUS conference .
    	It's strange because when I do the searches using MBMAN , all
    works fine . But perhaps someone can give me some hints .
