655.0. "installation TM query" by PANIC::CRAWFORD (PAM - City Hacker) Fri May 08 1992 18:34

Installation Guide 7.33 Automatic Postinstallation Tasks - appears to
automatically remove the V2 Time Management Interface; is there any way
of overriding this ? The Installation Procedure does not appear to ask
whether you require it to be removed or not.

I'll take a stab at this one. The V2 (pre-v2.3 really) interface
is being removed because parts of it will no longer work (the
retirement was announced in v2.4) The portions of this interface
        that create mail are obsolete.

Is there a real need to leave this behind?

We intended to remove this in V2.4, but didn't get around to it. Its
demise was announced in the V2.3 SPD.

It's not supported, and I don't suppose for one moment it understands
drawers. Having said that, it's only a UI layer on top of the mail
functions, so you could probably "customise" all the files before the
upgrade to get them into the site areas and then get them working again
without too much trouble. Some of the mesages may have been removed.

The postinstall job will also take EMD out of all the user's profile
records, so you'd have to replace that.

Just in case, even if you try and save everything (by making customized
versions of the forms via CM), it's likely that you'll forget
something. ALL-IN-1 V3.0 blows away OA$LIB:OAFORM.FLB, so you need to
take a copy of this (to OAFORM_V24.FLB?) before starting the
    installation.

The old scripts etc. will be removed by the DELETE_OBSOLETE_FILES.COM
procedure, so don't run that until you make sure you have everything
    you need.

Thanks ALL for the info.

Sorry should have put in .0 that this had been asked by a customer who is
still using the old appointments interface.
