620.0. "TO list INBOX INDEX form" by HGOVC::ANTHONYWONG () Mon May 04 1992 06:21

    Hi,

    In our region we would like to create a new index form that can let
    user prioritize their work by index INBOX folder with additional RSE
    that check for whether the user is in the TO or CC list. This is very
    useful for the users with large amount of incoming mail that he/she can
    choose only those that are TO him/her. It seem to me that this is a
    difficult task since TO and CC can only be access using CAB$ATTRIBUTES.
    Does anybody know how to do it? Can anybody give me some hints and
    without saying the detail coding?

    Thanks in advance.

620.1What about the APA?CESARE::EIJSAll in 1 PieceMon May 04 1992 09:1115

    Anthony,

    Without having read documentation, without having seen a kit yet, a
    first guess: could the 'ALL-IN-1 Personal Assistent' be of use? It
    allows to define rules to filter mail messages.

    Ciao,

620.2PA will not do at the momentHGOVC::ANTHONYWONGTue May 05 1992 04:5615
    Hi Simon,

    A1 PA seems OK but in our area it can not be used at the moment since
    normally we have to take a very detail look into the software before we
    can use it. Also, we have local language ALL-IN-1 v2.4 used in here
    which PA is not support at the moment. So, if possible I would like to
    create a INDEX form that index the inbox and TO or CC field. Can you
    give me some hints on what should I do to create this INDEX form.

    Many thanks.

    best regards,

    Anthony

620.3It's still a good guidelineSHALOT::NICODEMWho told you I'm paranoid???Mon May 11 1992 15:338
	Whether APA would work "out of the box" or not is, perhaps, not the
issue. If you are looking for hints, or ways of implementing what you just
described, then I'd still look to APA, even if only as a guideline, or helpful
hint. As long as you're thinking of "starting from scratch" anyway, why not
use the design and implementation that's already there, and then modify it for
your specific needs?
