602.0. "Problem creating new shared directories and relevant logicals" by UPROAR::WATSONR (Dunno man... just got here myself !) Wed Apr 29 1992 18:16
Perhaps someone can shed some light on a problem I have when creating new
shared directories.
When, using the "MMA C CSD" option, I ask to create say 10 shared directories
using two disks, I would have expected to see five appear on each, odd on
one and even on the other. However, I only see 10 directories appear on the
first of the two disks.
If I edit the shared mail area, and CDD, it also shows the two disks (which
are mounted and there is no apparent problem with the disks ie not full).
Secondly, after creating the shared directories, ALL-IN-1 says it is
submitting two batch jobs to re-define the logical names. I can only see
one batch job, and as expected, the logical names are only created on one
of my two nodes. I have used the "SYS MNQ" option to check that there are
two queues, one on each node, and there are, but for some reason ALL-IN-1
does not appear to submit the batch job to both machines.
Any ideas ?

Mystery solved.
If I run as ALLIN1 as opposed to my own account, it works fine. Directories
created in the right place and logicals created appropriately.
How strange.
