592.1 | Already addressed in the Tools Project | KERNEL::HOULDINGJ | Jill Houlding - Back in Basingstoke | Wed Apr 29 1992 10:07 | 17 |
| Hi
This very point was raised during the ALL-IN-1 Tools Project by
specialists from other Support Specialists. This was discussed
at length with engineering and the conclusion was that the amount
of work which would be necessary was too great.
The real reason for needing this is that the log files for the
housekeeping procedures do not give enough information when problems
occur to enable support specialists to determine the cause of the
problem. Engineering agreed to try to handle errors better which in
some case I think they have for Diamond.
However, I agree with you we, in the CSC's need something like this
to be able to trouble-shoot unusual problems.

Well the amount of problems that are logged regarding HK's and time
spent telling some customers where to put the set verifies can be alot.
I am sure that we would cut down on the HK calls and give the customer
a better service if we had this were available.
Thanks for pointing me to the note.

| Maybe someone should make the necessary changes and funnel them back to
engineering.
