556.0. "Can't link SDf into OA$MAIN" by LEMAN::REGINA (Carrie's in the carrot land) Thu Apr 23 1992 11:59

    Help. I can't get my SDF into OA$MAIN. I tried the link
    with the *.OBJ's in [.site.sources_share] and in [.sources_share].

    The OA$SCT$SDF element is moved ot live and appears in SITEOALIBR.

    The SITELINK30.COM is in [.site.sources_Share] and contains
$ wo "oa$build:as$dfun"
$ wo "oa$build:pdl_profile_access"
$ wo "OA$Build:oax$file_info"

    When I do examine functions there are absolutely no SDF. (Yes
    I moved the new image to OA$LIB_SHARE and reinstalled.)

    I do the relink as described in the manual with set def OA$BUILD_LLV
    and @a1lnkdrv.

    ALL-IN-1 V3.0. Thanks for any hint.
    regards, Regina

    Hi Regina,

    Some questions:

    1) Does A1LINK.OPT contain the 3 .OBJ references?
    2) Did you relink with any options (like OPTIONS N)?
    3) Can you call the function or can't you just see it?
    4) Are you using Syntax 1 (new) or 2 (old)?
    5) Did you notice any compilation problem messages when the elements
       was marked to be moved to live?

    If possible, can you give a Screen dump of one of your functions in
    OA$SCT$SDF (both screens if the 2nd screen is used)?

    Thanks,

    	Simon

    Simon,

    1) A1LINK.OPT does not contain the OBJ references
    2) No options relink
    3) When I call the function it tells me it is no implemented in this
    version.
    4) Syntax 2 (as on another system dsoing links just fine!)
    5) There was on error which I could not trap, so I restarted with
       trace enable and of course the error did not reappear.

556.3SITELINK30 must be in default directoryLEMAN::REGINACarrie's in the carrot landThu Apr 23 1992 13:534
    Well, scanning A1lINK.com it says that SITELINK30 must be in
    the default directory, when A1lnkdrv is called. As the book says
    you have to do set def OA$BUILD_LLV, SITELINK30.COM has to be
    in that directory. Linking ok now. Thx. Regina
556.4Linking in v3.0 is excitingAIMTEC::WICKS_AMore Ship dates than actual ShipsThu Apr 23 1992 17:1114
    Regina,

    Don't worry about getting this sort of thing wrong the change in the
    "rules" for linking for ALL-IN-1 has already caught out many fine ALL-IN-1
    Experts and even novices like me.

    We are expecting lots of calls on this and your note gives us yet
    another permutation that we can enter as STARS article so thanks for
    posting it.

    Regards,
