| >> 1. Is it possible to integrate the keypak converters into the classic
>> all-in-1 menu?
As ALL-IN-1 is wonderfully customisable, you can easily call any program from
within ALL-IN-1, eg:
GET OA$DCL = "COPY " #src_file #dst_file
thus complying with Customer Imposed Rule #1. However, not knowing much about
Keypak I can't suggest a specific solution, or even whether Keypak can do the
conversions you require (although Customer Imposed Rule #2 implies it can).
>> 2. Is it possible for classic all-in-1 to inform a user when a binary
>> attachment is received that is unreadable ?
It depends on what sort of "binary" it is. There are a number of "binary"
formats that are recognised by ALL-IN-1: when the user reads such a message,
instead of the message (or attachemnt) text they get the single line
FOREIGN document type cannot be displayed
(or words to that effect)
There is also an "UNKNOWN" datatype, which is meant to be a catch-all, but again
is only used by ALL-IN-1 for certain types. If you can tell me the NBS document
type number that is put in the message, I can tell you what ALL-IN-1 will do
with it.
>> 3. Is it possible for all-in-1 classic to auto-convert binary attached
>> files to wps+ format ?
You may be able to do this with "Personal Assistant" (apologies for mis-spelling
that if it's one of our hallowed trademarks), but I don't know whether it allows
selection based on document type.
Or you could write a script which scans a user's file cabinet for documents of
a particualr type, and performs the convert operation as appropriate.
Short of changing the mail delivery code, there isn't really any way you
can have it happen totally automatically.
>> 4. Is is possible to have all-in-1 convert wps+ documents to mac
>> microsoft word format and then attach them to an outgoing mail message?
Customise "Send" (or provide another option, eg SC, Send with Convert)) to
a) Convert the document
b) Forward it (ie giving the user the address entry form, and the option to
add a cover note.
Alternatively, the user could do this manually, by calling the convert
operation from a new menu option, then forwarding the resulting document in the
conventional way.
>> 3. The conversion process must be bi-directional (mac to WPS+ and WPS+
>> to Mac)
>> 4. Files are to be moved between the mac and vax via mail (x.400 on mac or
>> classic All-in-1 on vax)
To summarise, this is easy to do from ALL-IN-1's point of view, as long as
a) You can get the document into a "binary" format understood (or at least
accepted) by ALL-IN-1
b) The convertors actually exist to do the require conversions!

| Kevin's got the right stuff regarding .0. The V1.1 ALL-IN-1 PC Server for
VMS, which is used with DESKtop for DOS & Mac, does indeed basically do
all of the things the customer wants on the VMS side.
Note that KEYpak doesn't convert from Word for Mac <-> WPS-PLUS. It only
goes to DX. You'll have to rely on ALL-IN-1 to convert from DX <-> WPL.
