471.0. "ALL-IN-1 not accepting any input" by WAYOUT::ALLAMS () Mon Apr 13 1992 11:45

HI,

System is ALL-IN-1 v2.4/british running on vms 5.4-2.

The customer has installed patch 604, and then de-installed it.

The reason for the de-install, was that he was getting errors
compiling the txl's and because he couldn't fix these errors,
	he deinstalled the patch.

Now, when you go into ALL-IN-1, and type anything in the choice
field, then all it does is return the cursor to it's place, leaving
the text you have written still there, and not actioning anything.

I am currently investigating further, but so far, to no avail.
	If I stick a oa$tra_set all,log in an oaini.scp, the results are:

0 ! OA$FMS_GET_KEYPAD: Key value {CR} "CHOICE" (7) on page 1
4 ! OA$FLD_GET_FIELD-- 7
4 ! OA$FMS_GET: Getting user input from field "CHOICE" (7) on page 1
4 ! OA$FMS_GET_KEYPAD: Key value {CR} "CHOICE" (7) on page 1
5 ! OA$FLD_GET_FIELD-- 7
5 ! OA$FMS_GET: Getting user input from field "CHOICE" (7) on page 1
6 ! OA$FLO_ALL_NDISP: Undisplay all workspaces

This is by trying 'WP' and 'EM" in the choice field.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate
		some help.

	Fixed it!

What had ACTUALLY happened was this:

nov: installed patch k603, ran post install tasks

two days ago: installed patch k603 - cscpat fix, ran no post install
tasks, because none were required according to the
		       documentation.

two days ago: installed k604, this failed due to cmtxl problems,

	1 day ago: de-installed k604

1 day ago: backed up disk to pre two days ago.

1 day ago: installed k603 fix again.

It appears that the fix for 603 requires that the 603 post-installation
tasks be carried out, but this is not mentioned in the documentation. -
Hence the problems. If the customer had the updated 603, all would
	have been fine.

Oh, well, one to watch in the future!
