    Hello,
    
    I am trying to understand the option SMU and what it can do, but I am 
    not sure if what I've got is correct or not.
    
    
    Scenerio:
    
    User_a has granted mail access to User_b to process and send mail.
    
    1. log into User_b
    
    2. SMU User_a - the current box is now [User_a]Main as the Drawer.
    
    3. select MAIN drawer (that is User_b's MAIN)
    
    4. select a document in the OUTBOX folder (i.e. in User_b's file    
    cabinet)
    
    5. send to self - i.e. TO: I
       - the address is now expanded to <User_b's full name>
    
    Result:
    
    1. ALL-IN-1 said "replacing document"
    
    2. User_b received the mail, but the sender is User_a - not User_b.
    
    3. A copy of the mail is found in the User_a's CREATED folder (marked 
    UNSENT) as well as in his OUTBOX folder (marked SENT)!
    
    
    Questions: 
    
    1. Is this how it should happen - i.e a copy of the mail in the 
    CREATED and the OUTBOX folders?
    
    2. Why User_a can see the documents in the OUTBOX and the READ 
    folders of User_b, but not the INBOX and CREATED folders ?

    I can give you a quick answer to some of it.

    This is because the drawer is shared and document reservation is
    invoked, so the editor has to build the message file and then copy it
    into the document using a replace operation.

    That's right. It is "from" User_a, but you will notice an extra line
    at the top of the message, saying "Sent By:  User_b". In other words it
    has really been sent by User_b (eg secretary) on behalf of User_a
    (eg manager).

    I'm not sure why this should be so. It seems to be connected with the
    fact that the document being sent is User_b's. If you repeat the
    exercise, but send one of User_a's documents you don't get the unsent
    copy in the created folder. Looks like a problem.

    I don't really understand the question. If User_a has access to
    User_b's drawer (ie opposite direction to gma) then User_a should be
    able to see all the folders. I just tried that and it seems ok.

        usually does. When I was creating the mail message, I entered "I" and it 
        expanded as "User_b's full name" - so I assumed that the send is User_b 
        (the actual account I was in). However, the sender of the mail is User_a 
        (the user I was SMUing to).

	I have sent a User_a's document to User_b and everything looks fine. 
        i.e. The mail has the "Send By:.." line and there is no copy in the 
        Created folder.

	My mistake. I can see all folders in User_b's MAIN drawer while the mail 
        user is User_a. However, User_b did not grant User_a mail access - is 
        this right ?

    	Yes, "I" still am who I logged in as, but if I send, then I am
    	sending stuff on behalf of the boss.

I cannot re-generate the problem this morning. Everything works , including the 
"Send By: User_b" line. I don't know what went wrong last Friday - the system 
must be over-stressed, but it's not me - believe me.

    Although we seem to agree that everything is working now, I am sure I
    tried your experiment (user_b sends something from *user_b*'s outbox
    while smu'd to user_a) and got the same result as you - that is an
    erroneous unsent message in user_a's CREATED folder.
    
    That was back on the 10th and of course I can't reproduce this now -
    such is life. So, if you get anything like this again, could you let me
    know. Either I'm crazy or there is indeed still a problem lurking
    there.
