462.0. "PAT fais to archive documents." by WAYOUT::LOAT (Bored....Bored....BORED!!!!) Fri Apr 10 1992 11:37
A customer is running ALL-IN-1 2.4 and VMS 5.4, and they are trying to
transfer a user over the network, but the transfer is failing with the
error that is failed to prepare the file cabinet.
Looking at the log file, it actually processes the file cabinet, and
loops through it, attempting to archive documents, but some of these
calls to the archive_document function fail, as is seen by the fact
that OA$STATUS is set to 0.
All the error gives is 'Failed to archive document - {document name}
Any ideas as to why the function fails? It doesn't exactly give me a
lot to go on.
Steve.

462.1 | Missing files? | IOSG::MAURICE | IOSG ain't a place to raise a kid | Fri Apr 10 1992 12:49 | 7 |
| It may be because the document file is missing. It might be a good idea
to run TRM (patched up to date) with the option to check for body
files.

| The account in question was a simple test account, which only had a few
documents, and there was no problem with missing files.
More ideas?

| I've looked at the Archive code and here are a couple of possibilities:
1. Are the documents non-deletable, i.e. DELETE field in DOCDB is "N"?
2. Do the documents have attachments and if so do the attachment files
exist?
Have you tried archiving the documents by the ADN option? If it fails
is there an error in the GOLD W window?
Cheers
