447.1 | It's been retired | SHALOT::TROTTA | Intellectually challenged | Thu Apr 09 1992 15:42 | 13 |
| Hi Steve,
Back when there was still a US Office ASSETS Library (and I was working
for it), I suggested PMEMOS to be one of the Solution Tools we carried
over to the new Digital Solutions Library. Apparently I had so much
"pull" they went ahead and retired it, which is why you can't find it
anymore.
FWIW we use it here on our systems, and I plan on upgrading it to
V3.0 for our own use. I'll probably submit it to the DSL, but there's
no guarantee they'll accept it.

447.2 | In the U.S there are almost Zero | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | Vote Bill'n'Opus for a weirder USA | Thu Apr 09 1992 17:58 | 18 |
| Steve,
As Paul so rightly says the "improved" ASSETS organisation retired
PMEMOS for ALL-IN-1 v2.4 sometime ago therefore the chances of it being
made available for v3.0 can be considered to be *low*
Effective April 1st the ASSETS library only supported SFCP, SES and
SCS under v2.4 and we know SFCP won't exist for v3.0 so the whole
ASSETS thing is almost deceased unfortunatley.
(Of course in Europe things are much more sensible and there are lots
more ASSETS available and planned to upgrade to v3.0 including MAIL
JANITOR)

447.3 | Clarification | SHALOT::TROTTA | Intellectually challenged | Thu Apr 09 1992 20:13 | 19 |
| To Whom It May Concern,
There were 7 packages which made the transition from the old US Office
ASSETS Library to the new Digital Solutions Library, and are still
supported:
CUSTOMIZATION MANAGEMENT APPLICATION (aka CMA; only still supported
because it's required for SES)
SYSTEM FOR EXECUTIVE SERVICES (aka SES)
SHARED FILE CABINET PACKAGE (aka SFCP)
SFCP/ASD INTEGRATION TOOL
RESOURCE SCHEDULING
MAIL JANITOR
DIALOGUE BUS
Note that SYSTEM FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE (aka SCS) is *not* on the list.

| Paul,
I'm intrigued - perhaps you'd care to explain why your list and the
one available on VTX which I confirmed with the ASSETS
'phone-box-on-the-corner-by-K-Mart' organisation have differeing
products available.
One beer is on offer - only my list is the one in STARS also.

| Um, er, well, ah...
Yeah, I'm intrigued also. From what I've been able to find out, it
should have been retired. A full-scale investigation is underway.
In the meantime, suffice it to say that the 7 packages I listed in .3
are really really the only ones we're funded to support. The fact that
SCS is still available through VTX doesn't change that.
Wiping the egg off my face (even though it's not my fault it's there),
