421.0. "V3.0 Training" by AIMTEC::PORTER_T (Terry Porter, ALL-IN-1 Support, Atlanta CSC) Tue Apr 07 1992 00:21

The CSC in Atlanta is giving V3.0 training to the support specialists and in
an effort to get more benifit for the company from the expense of developing
this training we are opening it up to the field organisation, or anyone else
who cares to come.

There will be no charge for the courses, but you will have to cover your
own expences. Places are limited so it is first come first serve. If you
are interested please contact Shyrlee Porter (@ALF DTN:343-1828).

Below is the notice describing the available courses, reproduced with the
permission of the author and with the original distribution list removed.

Just in case any of you do not know the CSC is in a town called Alpharetta,
which is about 30 miles north of Atlanta, Georgia.

Subject: ALL-IN-1 V3.0 seminars in ALF                                          1

   ALL-IN-1 IOS V3.0 IS CURRENTLY SCHEDULED TO SHIP ON APRIL 17TH.

I have stated in previous mail to this distribution that I would let
you know when the CSC in Atlanta was scheduling some internally
developed seminars. This schedule is now available.

These seminars have been developed by the CSC software consultants
that have been working with this product throughout the field test and
are now delivering these seminars to the rest of the CSC specialists
in preparation for support of this product.

If you are interested in attending any of these seminars please let me
know. A few slots are available to you - on a first come, first serve
basis. There will be no tuition charged. You will be responsible for
any expenses you incur.

The CSC may be adding other offerings - I will let you know if & when
they are scheduled.

Regards.

Shyrlee Porter

421.1ALL-IN-1 3.0 Upgrade class offered at CSCAIMTEC::BURGESS_SThu Apr 09 1992 17:1823

    There is also an ALL-IN-1 3.0 upgrade class that I am teaching as
    part of the training mentioned in the previous note. The class is a 4
    day class that will cover the following topics:

    SFCP and SFCP migration, VMSINSTAL debugging options, understanding
    KITINSTAL, PRE-CHECK, examining the Kit and understanding the
    KI command files, and solving Post-Installation tasks. We will upgrade
    a 2.4 SFCP system to 3.0. We will not spend a lot of time on the CART since
    that is a separate class.

    Dates:
	Apr 13- 16th, Apr 20-23 , Apr 27-30
        May 18 - 21

    There will be at least one more class, but I am not sure of the date
    please contact Shyrlee Porter@ALF if you are interested in attending.

    Thanks,
    Sam Burgess

421.3CBT with V3BAHTAT::64030::bellAt last a PC User !Thu May 28 1992 17:126
How much user level training is supplied with the product in CBT form ?
Could an experienced V2.3/V2.4 user migrate to V3.0 purely by using the
inbuilt training or is there scope for us to develop add on training to
that?

421.4Yes, there's a CBI...IOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeThu May 28 1992 18:2823
    There's a New Features CBI which covers a bit of stuff:

    	     T1   Introduction

             T2   File cabinet

             T3   Read enhancements
             T4   Attachments
             T5   Distribution lists
             T6   Nicknames

             T7   Grant mail access
             T8   Set mail user

             T9   WPS-PLUS Editor

    During Field Test, one of our sites reported that half their users
    hadn't noticed that they'd been upgraded....

    Of course, there's always scope for training courses, even if only to
    reflect your particular set of customisations.

421.5More training, this time in DublinSIOG::T_REDMONDThoughts of an Idle MindFri May 29 1992 21:5815
    Totally off the subject of CBT, but if anyone is interested in
    attending an "Upgrading to ALL-IN-1 V3.0" course that Kevin Laahs and
    myself will be running in Dublin during the week of June 22, you can
    contact Martin Ganter @DBO to see if there are any available slots. I
    believe that there are still a few around, and naturally we'd like to
    teach a full class.

    I guess that U.K. based people will find it easiest to get to Dublin,
    but it's open to everyone (including customers). The latter point will
    not stop us going into some undocumented areas...

    Anyway, for those who'd like a week in Dublin (good Guinness etc.),
    here's your chance.
