Hi one and all.... ALL-IN-1 v2.4 with WPS-PLUS v4 Update. There seems to be a difference between the functionality of the formatters available within ALL-IN-1 v2.4 and the WPS-PLUS/VMS stand-alone product. The problem the customer is reporting is that if you have a document thus: --------------start control PRINTER FORMAT LANDSCAPE --------------end control text text text --------------new page --------------start control PRINTER FORMAT PORTRAIT --------------end control text text text and you print with first page printed 2 last page printed 2 the page will come out in landscape instead of portrait. The work-around supplied by WPS-PLUS Engineering is to place the Portrait control block before the New Page marker. This is fine in WPS-PLUS/VMS v4.0 but it does not fix the problem in ALL-IN-1 with v4. I am assuming that WPS-PLUS is the same in both cases and that it is the formatting that is different, which is why I have put this in this conference. Any response accepted. alan.

The version of WPS-PLUS included in the ALL-IN-1 V2.4 update is not exactly the same as WPS-PLUS/VMS V4.0. The WPS-PLUS group supplied the ALL-IN-1 group with a version of WPS-PLUS with fixes to some of the problems reported in WPS-PLUS/VMS V4.0 WPS-PLUS consists of an editor and a formatter (and a sort processer and list processor). It is not just as an editor as your statement seems to imply. I suggest that you ask this WPS-PLUS formatter question in the WPS-PLUS conference. Richard | |||||

Thanks for the reply Richard. Maybe I didn't phrase it very well, but I appreciate that WPS-PLUS has a formatter (difficult to print from the stand-alone product otherwise :-)) but I 'thought' that there would be differences between oa$formatter and wpl$formatter. Evidently not - I have now posted in WPS-PLUS/VMS conf. Cheers alan. |
