Jan,
If I understand you correctly you want to fix the problem of
a user with a filecab entry, but the corresponding partition file
has no drawer that matches. Right?
There are 2 options:
1) Remove the drawer from the filecabinet. Not really ideal since
a drawer could be in multiple filecabinets throughout the network.
2) Verify that the drawer really physically exists (ie has a directory
docdb.dat etc) then use the FCS system managment routine called
OafcSetPartition to "create" the drawer over again. Note that
"creating" a drawer from the system managment interface is not
a create. It takes a physically existing drawer and creates a
record in the partition file for it. In order to do this you
need to know 1) Drawer directory 2) language of the drawer
3) Unique name of the drawer.
Not sure of the exact menu options for 2) but I would guess it is
on the manage drawers or manage partitions menu.

Right ! I don't know how they do it, but customers allways
corrupt delete/corrupt these kind of vital files.

Right !

OafcSetPartition ? Oops. Do you have an example ?

This looks good, but when I "SM MD C", and use an existing
directory, I get the error:
"A drawer of this name already exists on the system"
Perhaps I use the wrong option, I don't see a language field ?

Jan

re .2 and .3
Yup, Terry sounds like he has the idea :-)
One of these days I will find the time to actually learn what the
SM menus do. I know what our stuff is capable of, but am a little
vague on what was implemented and how it is done. :-)

Terry,
Thanks for the invite, they are predicting 6 inches of snow for
tonight up here, somehow, I hope this is a cruel April fools joke.
Don't know how to justify the trip down when I have the developer
of it right down the hall and a system to mess around with in
the next office, could use the sun though :-)
