Hi,
Not being ALL-IN-1 literate, it is not clear to me if this is the
ALL-IN-1 conference to ask this question.
A customer would like to develope an application capable of mailing
images via ALL-IN-1.
(1) What ALL-IN-1 layered products would be neccessary.
(2) Does the DECwindows interface to ALL-IN-1 currently support
viewing images ?
Thanx,
Bill

Welcome to the very human world of ALL-IN-1!
Assuming that the images are DDIF or DTIF documents then you really
don't need any software other than CDA support. You can add CDA
documents to the file cabinet via the DT (Document Transfer) menu and
using the RVC (Receive from VMS without Conversion - a real clever menu
choice) option. You can now send that document to other ALL-IN-1
users via mail. You can also view the document using normal ALL-IN-1
menus with a few restrictions. There are some good notes in here which
discuss which images must be installed for complete CDA support.
The ALL-IN-1 Services for DECwindows does offer the best way with which
to deal with images as it supports independent viewers. Sadly, there
doesn't appear to be much future for that product.
Have fun,
don
