ALL-IN-1 V2.4 Unpatched VMS 5.4 A customer is having problems with the subprocess while in ALL-IN-1. The problem only occurs after using the CM MS DVF option (not totally reproducible on his system). What happens is that if he takes an option which uses the subprocess, such as editing a form using FMS he gets the 'Error occured in subprocess' message and logout information. After this any subsequent operations which access DCL such as using the $ command give the same error. It only clears up by exiting and reentering ALL-IN-1 completely. The problem occurs enough to be a nuisance and the customer has discovered that if he uses the oa$sub_open command before the DVF option it never happens. This is happening with his own privileged account with CM priv and the ALLIN1 account. Account quotas are as minimum recomended from installation guide. Any ideas. Regards Aston

Does he have a special OAINI.COM which plays around with search orders or logical names? Tony | |||||

The "error occurred in subprocess" message will also display if you logout the sub-process, but it should be recreated with the next COMMAND function call. If the user is on a workstation, it is conceivable that he/she could use up PRCLM, although I'm not sure exactly how that works. I don't think there is a privilege which allows one to exceed PRCLM. Perhaps you could post more detail of what the user is doing. Ben |
