316.0. "central filing, inteface with excalibur ??" by MSAM00::HOSOKEHUN () Wed Mar 25 1992 07:08

    Hi,

CAn soneone tell me if EXCALIBUR can be integrated with ALL-IN-1 ??

Customer has a requirement to have 'central filing' on his system, to
keep a copy of all mails in and out of his system and use a text
retrieval program to retrieve the document easily.

Customer may standardise his subject field to have the first 8
characters in the subject field as the REFERENCE number of the document
and retrieve based on this number.

HAs anyone done this before ?? Any suggestions ?

I may have to write a program to read pending.dat and the share areas
to extract all the docuements to VMS files and then pass on the the
    excalibur program. Doable ??

    Thanks and regards,
    ANgeline

Excalibur has been integrated with ALL-IN-1. The product is called A1X.
Contact Don Vickers @OGO. He'll be more than happy to talk to you about
    A1X.

    Cheers, Tony

I am not a doctor nor do I play one on television (poor US specific
humour, I fear) but I will be happy to help relative to discussions of
the integration of Excalibur into ALL-IN-1. there is a product called
ALL-IN-1/TRS which is that exact thing. It is in the DECdirect
catalogue in the US and costs about $175 per user.

It can be sold to other parts of the planet as well but is not designed
or built to be internationalized at this point.

There is a notes conference for it which includes pointers to the
documentation and information on how to get copies of the demo kit
(exact same thing as a real kit but with a drop over dead date in it).
The conference is at LEARN2::A1CBR and I will try to remember to add a
pointer to that to this reply so all you need to do is to press SELECT
    or KP7 to add it.

As my press agent, Mr. Tony, said feel free to send me mail @ OGO (or
@ORO if you prefer to keep the mail in the US).

    Have fun,
    don
