Jan,
Nope, the A1_FILE_CABINET_SERVER conference is not dead. The way it
seems to be working is this.
People running the server and having problems via ALL-IN-1 are asking
here, TCP people are asking in WINDOWS_OFFICE and people who just want
to know about the FCS and are trying to hack there own clients are
going through A1_FILE_CABINET_SERVER. Note there is almost no activity
is the A1_FILE_CABINET_SERVER conference.

308.2 | FCS looks fully 3.0 integrated | UTRTSC::SCHOLLAERT | Half Dutch - Half Belgium | Tue Mar 24 1992 14:18 | 12 |
| Thanks Bob,
I considered the FCS to be a fully integrated part ALL-IN-1 3.0.
You cannot run the Server without ALL-IN-1 and visa versa and
FCS is not in CM...

| Well, you can't run the Server without ALL-IN-1 IOS _being__there_ (for
management etc).
But you might want to use it from some client that you;re writing.

308.4 | It has to be there, but that's it. | CHRLIE::HUSTON | | Tue Mar 24 1992 15:23 | 15 |

As Dave said you can't run the FCS without ALL-IN-1 being on the
system.
The only dependacy we have on ALL-IN-1 is that we count on certain
logicals and files to be present that are supplied by ALL-IN-1. There
is absolutely no requirement that you use the FCS with ALL-IN-1, you
can write totally independant applications, but anything you create
will be stored in the ALL-IN-1 file cabinet and will be accessible via
ALL-IN-1 and visa versa. This is basically what TCP is doing, providing
access to the ALL-IN-1 file cabinet and accessing the filecabinet
from a MS-Windows interface.
