(Cross posted in WPS-PLUS, note 498.0, with no response) I have a customer who uses VTerm as an emulator to run ALL-IN-1 V2.4 (no WPS-PLUS V4 yet). They apparently don't get multinational characters on the screen. They're looking at some others but find that using compose is too difficult for actually typing in another language, particularly French. Is anyone out there using an emulator on the PC that makes entering multinational characters easy? The ability to switch languages the way you can on a VT would probably be ok. I suggested UPD's, but she feels there are too many keys to use (GOLD) F17-F20, and Gold U is just too many keystrokes to get one . Ben

How about using DOS's `KEYB' command to select an appropriate keyboard layout? E.g. a french keyboard. Similarly, Windows-3 allows you to set your keyboard mapping (from `international' on the `control panel'.) Or do they want a VT style `compose' key? There are utilities that can do that too. Cheers, Paul. | |||||

RE:.1 >> Or do they want a VT style `compose' key? There are utilities that can >> do that too. No, they hate COMPOSE. It is too many keystrokes for one letter. I will suggest KEYB. I'm not sure if they use Windows, since I have another requirement that excludes it. Ben |
