YES & YES...
mnode is off in everyone's profile entry.
Any thoughts?

I think he's suggesting that the network like address may be being
returned from DDS.

| This could be something to do with DDS caching - we'll have to wait for
someone (perhaps in Georgia?) who knows a bit about DDS.
I'm assuming it isn't version 3. If it is, it could be to do with the
new escalation mechanism.
Dave.

| Hello again,
I guess the main irritation with this for the customer is that it doesn't
happen for all users, & there appears to be no pattern for it.
Any further thoughts???

| Chele,
OK i'll bite are the addresses really coming out of DDS?
Do you get the same results using DIR SMD?
If so is the MHS O/R address built properly? The base note has
ROWEDEBBIE@node instead of ROWDEBBIE@A1@NODE.
Is the symbol OA$DDS_AREA_ROUTE correctly set to @A1@NODE?
Does anyone else follow this?

| Hello Andrew,
>> OK i'll bite (I'd HEARD that... :) )
The customer, unfortunately, is not in fow a few days, I will get back to you
when I have more info.
Thanks again,
Chele
P.S. (will you keep "talking" to me if I tell you I'm 1/4 Welsh?)

| >> Do you get the same results using DIR SMD?
No, SMD shows only the local information.
>> If so is the MHS O/R address built properly?
I THINK so, addressing standard is "name init@A1@node"
>> Is the symbol OA$DDS_AREA_ROUTE correctly set to @A1@NODE?
Nope, no such or similar symbol OR logical, even on wildcard.
Example is ALL-IN-1 user, Ian Sleep. His ALL-IN-1 username is SLEEP I.
SLEEP I <FIND> gets the ALL-IN-1 address
SLEEP I <RETURN> gets the ALL-IN-1 address
SLEEP <RETURN> gets the node address (ie SLEEP I @A1@node)
Once the ALL-IN-1 username has been "found", it appears to be cached for the
remainder of that form - once the form is finished, the initial behaviour
returns.
The customer is attempting to train his users to use FIND rather than return.
The problem is with non-ALL-IN-1 addresses affects a procedure they run there.
They send messages to other nodes (what a remarkable idea).
A shared filing system exists (I don't know how it is set up). A report is
filed in that shared filing system. A message is then broadcast to various
users staing that the report is available. The title of the message contains
the location of the report. If this message is sent using the node rather than
the ALL-IN-1 address, the information in the title about the location of the
report is lost.
Thanks again,
Chele

| Chele,
Which quarter is Welsh? (:==:)
If DIR SMD is blank and OA$DDS_AREA_ROUTE is blank then the subscribers
weren't built correctly - what does the MANAGER have as an MHS
O/R address. If it's not MANAGER@A1@NODE then you're going to have
to rebuild the subscribers from scratch - ho ho

| Hello and Greetings,
>> If DIR SMD is blank and OA$DDS_AREA_ROUTE is blank then the subscribers
>> weren't built correctly
DIR SMD returns the ALL-IN-1 name of the user
<GET OA$DDS_AREA_ROUTE returns nowt
DDS was originally populated via MBMAN
>> - what does the MANAGER have as an MHS O/R address?
$MC MBMAN
SHOW DDS SUBSCRIBER/FULL/NAME=MANAGER
gives an MHS address for another node, but the syntax is correct
What is really bugging this customer is the different functionality for
"find" & "return".
>> Which quarter is Welsh? (:==:)
Well, it isn't the Spanish quarter!
Thanks & regards,
