284.1 | A few names of people active in this conference | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Fri Mar 20 1992 11:37 | 20 |
| Tony Redmond is working on something like this, I know since I'm doing
some of the presentations.
I think there's an EDU course being developed as well, isn't Steve
Allerton working on that? He asks that sort of question!
Also Atlanta (Terry Porter?) is developing some sort of course too.
It occurs to me that, corporately speaking, we probably aren't being
very efficient here...
Graham
PS
<< Please reply here or send me mail to Reda Sheinberg @COP or
<< NEWVAX::SHEINBERG if you donot use ALL-IN-1 mail.
Anyone not using ALL-IN-1 mail shouldn't be in this conference :-)

284.2 | Not that many cooks | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | Vote Bill'n'Opus for a weirder USA | Fri Mar 20 1992 16:42 | 22 |
| GAP,
I don't think the situation is as bad as that since Steve sits less
than a 50 yards from the people in the Atlanta CSC who are developing
training and we do talk to each other and exchange course material.
As for Atlanta and Engineering cooperating well ... (:==:)
Reda,
Perhaps if you could explain what topics you need help on that isn't
covered by Steve's (and Bo and Leslie of course) course we could help.
I believe the titles are something like "ALL-IN-1 v3.0 technical
Update", "ALL-IN-1 v3.0 Installation", "ALL-IN-1 v3.0 System
Management" and "ALL-IN-1 v3.0 Application Programming" but i'll defer
to Steve for the real titles and EY numbers.
Regards,
Andrew.D.Wicks

284.3 | Well, I'll try | GLOVES::ALLERTON | Steve Allerton 343-0205 | Fri Mar 20 1992 18:57 | 24 |

There are 2 "flavors" of the ALL-IN-1 Technical Update Seminar :
Customers : EY-H963E-L0 (3 days)
Internal : EY-I134E-L0 (5 days)
They are not as yet finalized...(neither are the other courses)
The ALL-IN-1 Installation Course (EY-I135E-L0) will only be
offerred to internal audiences.
I might add there is/was some confusion over a global implementation
plan concerning the ALL-IN-1 Installation "service" offerring. In
the V2.3 days, there was a FIP (Field Implementation plan) detailing
responsibilities and timelines for field service personnel who were
to perform the installation for customers. The installation was
performed as part of the DECSTART/DECSUPPORT service.
There doesn't seem to be a FIP for ALL-IN-1 IOS V3.0 (please correct me
if there is). From what I can understand, the local office will
determine how the DEC-provided install services are to be provided,
which might potentially involve the packaged service offerring.

284.4 | The Advanced, Wilder, V3.0 Seminar | SIOG::T_REDMOND | Thoughts of an Idle Mind | Fri Mar 20 1992 22:40 | 25 |
| Our seminar, entitled "ALL-IN-1 V3.0 Advanced Technical Seminar", will
be taught in:
Valbonne, France, May 18-22
Hong Kong, July 20-24
Atlanta, U.S.A, August 24-28 (tentative date)
The seminar was announced in the old conference. Lots of details there.
The advanced seminar differs from the "regular" ES seminar because:
1. It's wilder - after all, it's taught by engineers (who would pay
good money to hear G. Pye speak?)
2. We guarantee a good time in the wine bistros after class.
3. We cover things like Code Level Integration and Advanced
Customization Management.
4. We will only deliver it a maximum of 4 times.
5. We cover non-ALL-IN-1 things like TeamRoute and SRA.
6. We cover topics at a very fast pace.
7. We plan to have a good time (again), and hopefully make a lot
of cash for Digital.
I can send you the ES announcement if you like.
Cheers, Tony
