| I know I read this somewhere, but I cannot remember where:
Since VMS V5.5 introduced a new Job Controller, the WordPerfect
symbiont modifications do not work. You must get a patch from
WordPerfect. I believe that they are still working on a patch.
You might want to look in the WordPerfect conference and do a
DIR/TIT="5.5" in this conference to find more information.

| G'day Monica,
I have exactly the same problem with a customer and I talked to
WordPerfect. I was informed that Version 5.1-<something or another>
will fix this problem.
WordPerfect in Australia are hoping to ship the latest version/patch
out soon to there customers.

| I have just connected to WordPerfect's BBS and found that there is a
patch for VMS 5.5. I think the patch is called patch E or something
like that.

| WordPerfect insists on defining a group mode logical for SMBSRVSHR so
that they can steer the standard VMS print symbiont to do things that
it normally won't. Naturally, any change to the symbiont is going to
stop this from working because they are actually using their own
callable image. It also keeps things like VTX from installing
properly.
