210.0. "Dump when addressing a message" by VAXSPO::WILLECKE () Tue Mar 10 1992 20:36

I have a user with a problem in addressing a mail... She can't use just
part of the address when she is in the TO: field, because ALL-IN-1 quits and
shows her the message:

%SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=04, virtual address=00000019,
PC=000C1CFC, PSL=03C00000

  Improperly handled condition, image exit forced.

The only way that she can address a message is inputting the hole address...

We have ALL-IN-1 V2.4 installed and this user is the only one who is having
this problem...

Any idea?

Thanks,
Valeria

210.1Might be an oldie ...SHALOT::HUNTVirginia -- 1992 ACC Women's Hoops ChampsTue Mar 10 1992 21:144
 Check for a *sequential* NICKNAMES.DAT. Ask if the user tried to edit
 the file with EDT or TPU.

210.2NICKNAMES.DAT caused this problem in the pastGIDDAY::SETHIMan from DownunderTue Mar 10 1992 23:3410
    I came across a problem like this it was caused by NICKNAMES.DAT being
    a sequential file. As soon as this file was FDL'd the problem went
    away.

    If you find that this is not the problem set trace on to see where it's
    failing. From what I can remember when you enter a name in the "TO:"
    or the "CC:" fields NICKNAMES, PROFILE then NETWORK .dat's are searched
    in this order.

210.3There was no NICKNAMES.DAT!!!!VAXSPO::WILLECKEWed Mar 11 1992 13:5210

    OK! I looked for the file NICKNAMES.DAT in the user account and I
    couldn't find it! So, I copied my NICKNAMES file to her ALL-IN-1
    subdirectory and now it's working...

    This is really a simple solution for a so complicated error message!

    Thanks,
    Val.

	Even more information can be obtained if you give the command
	$SET WATCH FILE/CLASS=ALL on DCL-level before starting ALL-IN-1
	session. This is good means to check which are all the files
	accessed when going to send a message.

    Or $SET WATCH FILE/CLASS=(ALL,NODUMP)

    (DUMP produces 4 lines of hex data per operation - very tedious!)

    Note that you need CMKRNL priv to use SET WATCH FILE (you can turn it
    off after giving the SET command if you want to).
