190.0. "Lotus 1-2-3: Compressed print on LA120/LA210" by GIDDAY::BURT (Chele Burt - CSC Sydney, DTN 7357714) Mon Mar 09 1992 02:26

Customer is running ALL-IN-1 V2.4 with LOTUS v1 under VMS 5.4-1

Problem getting compressed print to work on LA120 & LA210, using LA75 supplied
driver.

They cannot get the supplied sequences to work for the LA210 or for the LA120
(both of which are on the SPD)

The customer has tried \027[4w] - what appears to happen is that the sequence
is being overwritten & default pitch is the result.

Any ideas?

Chele B

Your problem is not produced by the ALL-IN-1 driver (XXXX.PRA) but
unfortunatly by the Lotus driver. I assume your are using Lotus driver
to text and bundle file to LA75.

I have similar problems with LN0X printers. The Lotus drivers are using
own escape sequences which cannot be modified. Nobody know how by DEC!
I found that it is possible to specify a form when printing from Lotus,
but again the Lotus driver override pitch settings.

The only temporary solution I found is to use an init sequence somewere
in Lotus print menu (synthax is \155\051\032\076...). Now to make users
life easyier, I defined it on a user defined key (UDK).

The best solution would be of course that Lotus would release new
drivers for all Digital printers or that they will tell us how to
    modified existing drivers.

If you specify a form within Lotus, using the LN03 bundle file, Lotus
overrides those settings and the form isn't used. However, you can
get the form to print if you use the generic line printer bundle
file, TEXT. I assume this is like the LP11 printer table, because
it is very basic and doesn't produce pound signs etc.
