163.0. "Lotus 1-2-3 & ALL-IN-1" by BODRUM::KINACI (Inuendos......;>) Wed Mar 04 1992 11:43

    Hi folks!

We have a problem and need the help of you All-in-1 gurus out there.
The question is coming to you from Turkey where we have a Turkish
version of Allin1 hitting the market as we speak. We have a customer
who wants to use Lotus 123 for Allin1 in conjunction with
ALL-IN-1/TURKCE. During the installation an error message was
displayed indicating that 123 can only be used with English Allin1.
Is there no way we can get these two to work together on the same
system?...This must have been done somewhere by someone!...
I will appreciate any help you can give me on this ASAP.

    Thanx,

    Suzan

    Hi there!

Please, oh wonderful person, please learn to spell our popular
product name correctly ALL-IN-1, not Allin1 or All-in-1...
Thanks! Its a trademark you see, and we don't want to loose it.
    	Thanks kindly!

Now on to your problem. It would seem to be Lotus 123 specific,
may I humbly suggest you try the Lotus support conference, see
    	note 4.* for a pointer.

    Regards,
    Paul

    Suzan,

I am sure that my co-moderator did not mean to mispell the product name
for Lotus 1-2-3 which is also a trademark so I've taken the liberty
of correcting the spelling in the note title.

Whilst MRKTNG::LOTUS does contain a lot of good information we do also
speak about the integration here and in the previous version of this
conference on OAWEGO. A number of the people who work on Customization
Management know a lot about Lotus 1-2-3 and may reply here shortly.

I must admit I didn't even know that ALL-IN-1 had been translated into
Turkish - I assume that this is a translated version of ALL-IN-1 v2.4
    US English?

Having said that it's possible that Lotus haven't produced a kit that
is Turkish compatible yet - they produce kits for a number of european
languages, the list I brought back from DECUS didn't have Turkish
    listed.

Oh and finally welcome to the conference it's nice to see ALL-IN-1
spreading to new countries, we recently had our first note from Hungary
here now if only we could translate it into Welsh.

    Regards,

    Hi again folks...

Sorry about the incorrect spelling of the products in question...:>
The note was entered rather hastily so my apologies!..

    ALL-IN-1/TRKE is a customized version of V2.4 ..

I have gotten some help regarding a possible work around from the folks in
Germany which I hope will solve our problem. We will be working on it
and I will let you know how it goes. In the meantime I am open to any
solutions anyone else may know of.

Finally, it is nice to be here!...although yesterday I wasn't so sure
    about that fact....:>

163.4Turkish is not a supported 1-2-3 languageSIOG::T_REDMONDThoughts of an Idle MindFri Mar 06 1992 21:3912
Lotus 1-2-3 for ALL-IN-1 V1.0 does not support Turkish. You will have
to rebuild the Lotus kit (the savesets and KITINSTAL.COM) to make it
install against Turkish. You'll also have to change the entries in the
ISAM file Lotus use for ALL-IN-1 messages. Quite a lot of change - and
you'll have to do it again when Lotus ship their new kit that supports
    ALL-IN-1 V3.0.

Workaround: Install a supported language (U.S. English or British would
be best) on the system and install 1-2-3 for ALL-IN-1 against that. In
other words, run a multi-lingual system.

    Sorry, Tony
