156.0. "DECwrite files as attachments?" by HARBRD::IRONSIDE (Vegemite Kid) Tue Mar 03 1992 06:09

I have a customer who wishes to use DECwrite and have the capability to mail the
DECwrite (DDIF) files using ALL-IN-1.

After discussions with the ALL-IN-1 Services for DECwindows people - it seems
that MICA is not a viable solution.

The scenario I would like to have is the ability to pull the DECwrite file into
the ALL-IN-1 filing cabinet - then attach it to a mail message and send it.
Unfortunately every time I try to use RV or RVC from Document Transfer (DT) - I
get either a "CDA pack error" or a "CDA convert error".

I am using VMS V5.4-3, ALL-IN-1 V2.4, DECwrite V2.0.

By the way, I am not a technical person. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Your solution sounds fine, as long as you make your customer aware of the
fact that `LiveLinks' will be broken.

    However,

>Unfortunately every time I try to use RV or RVC from Document Transfer (DT) - I
>get either a "CDA pack error" or a "CDA convert error".

Could you post the GOLD-W output of the above error messages? That will
give more information to help track down where the problem is.

    Cheers,
	Paul.
