If you use DNS naming then one of the attributes for a partition is a list of one or more servers that service that partition. If there is more than one server listed how does ALL-IN-1 and/or the FCS decide which server to talk to? Is it the first available server, a random choice, a round-robin algorithm, or something else. Thanks in advance for any help you can give, Terry

Hi Terry,
Bob, our DNS expert, is out vacationing this week so I'm not sure BUT I
think the client randomly selects a server.

Terry,
If you are using DNS and you create a DNS partition, you are correct
in that there is a set (1 or more) or servers that can service that
partition.
Each server in the set must physically be local to the partition.
When you access this partition, a server is randomly picked from
the server set (the set is stored in DNS). If this server connect
fails, each server in the set will be tried until we get a connection
or we unsuccessfully use all the servers in the set.
Does that answer your questions??
