104.0. "A1024SUS020 bombs out at K603..." by ZPOVC::YEECHIN () Wed Feb 26 1992 01:02

Hi,

I have the following error message when I tried installing A1024SUS020.

It gets up to K603.

%VMSINSTAL-E-BADSPEC, File spec OAFORM.FLB cannot be parsed
%COPY-E-OPENIN, error opening $1$DUA16:[SYS1.SYSUPD.A1024SUS020.K603]OAFORM.FLB

I suspect a bad kit or has anyone any other opinion.

Regards,
yee chin

104.1Are you running Starter?AIMTEC::WICKS_AVote Bill'n'Opus for a weirder USAWed Feb 26 1992 21:1419
    Yee Chin,

    Where did you actually get the kit? If it wasn't from your CSC or from
    the SSB then i'd probably go back and get one from there.

    However i'd venture a guess that you might be installing on a system
    running ALL-IN-1 Starter. If so you're out of luck.

    I'll explain K603 replaces form REPLY (from Time Management) and of
    course this doesn't exist in Starter. The powers that be decided that
    rather than make the replacement of forms and scripts conditional
    in the K6xx patches they would issue a position statement to the effect
    that Starter must not be patched.

    Thanks Andrew for your assistance,

    I got the kit from the NOV 91 CD releases.

    This is not a Starter system, but they do have lots of customization
    and is pretty messy too.
    Could this indicate a missing FORM in OAFORM rather than OAFORM itself
    that is missing? If so, is it only the form REPLY that I should put
    back?

104.3Looks like a non-SSB kitAIMTEC::WICKS_AVote Bill'n'Opus for a weirder USAMon Mar 02 1992 16:5816
    Yee Chin,

    I don't have much experience with CDs but i'd be surprised if the Nov
    91 CD has the right (final) K603 on it - someone with a CD-ROM player
    would have to confirm that.

    All indications point to you having an early kit - i'd
    recommend trying to get a network kit, a TK50 or a later CD (jan?)

    You might be able to fake the installation out by decustomizing form
    REPLY (I think that's the only one) but I'm not sure.
