99.0. "Grant Mail Access - to what in MAIN?" by POBOX::MYERS_D () Tue Feb 25 1992 17:55
I am confused about the Grant Mail Access option as to exactly what a
user can access in my MAIN drawer if I grant them access.
For example, if I give USER1 Process Mail access, and he sets Mail User
to my account, it seems that he can access all my folders in my MAIN
drawer, and not only the mail folders.
Is this how it is supposed to work? Must users go through all
documents in their MAIN drawer and refile them to another drawer,
before granting mail access, if they have personal documents.
Thanks for you help,
Diane

| Yes that's how it's supposed to work. GMA requires that the whole
drawer be shared.
A justification might be that users can file their mail messages in any
folder. But the real implementation reason is that folder-level sharing
is not implemented in V3.0, in other words we do not have the
technology to share a subset of folders within a drawer.
Cheers
