79.0. "Patch pointers needed...." by AUSSIE::WHORLOW (Bushies do it for FREE!) Sun Feb 23 1992 22:51

    G'day,

    I am trying to find a note on the functions / fixes provided by the
    various patches to ALL-IN-1. Also I should like to know the whereabouts
    of patchkits on the network.

    This information is required as I have to test them against the SPR
    (Australian) local version of ALL-IN-1 before they are released into
    this geography.

    To-date, I have checked K603 (no changes required)

    The ALL-IN-1 => WPS-PLUS V4.0 patch (No changes required, but we have
    to use the UK (British) version.

    I have heard of K604... and k605 and need to do the checks.....

    Can someone provide a pointer or pointers please?

    Best Regards
    Derek

    Hello,

    You can find patches on CDROM or via your CSC (they can copy them from
    node RICARD).

    CDROM:

Directory _DAD1:[A1ENGLISH024.KIT]

A1024PAT021.A;1        2624  15-NOV-1991 00:00:00.00

    Derek,

    To add a little to Jan's note. The fine group of people at the CSC in
    Sydney on node GIDDAY should also have copies of all these patches for you.

    .. and in case you're confused by the filespecs on the CD:

    A1024SUS020 = K603
    A1024PAT021 = K604

    K605 is still a future.

79.3Thanks... but a short question...AUSSIE::WHORLOWBushies do it for FREE!Mon Feb 24 1992 21:4316
    G'day,

    Majic... Thanks folks.

    To ask a dumb question, though...

    In the past, patches that have been issued through CSC have not had to
    be released through the formal parts numbering system, as I understand
    it. Then A1024SUS came along, and now there was a formal process in
    place that meant that our SMU has to make and issue patch kits. Is this
    to continue, or will it revert to the less formal CSC release of patches?

     Best Regards
    Derek

    Derek,

    Someone in Engineering would have to answer that question.

    We're working on using more or less the same process for all future
    versions of ALL-IN-1. After all, the CSC's were the one's that pushed
    back saying they weren't in the business of producing software kits!.

    More later.
