| I have no idea if it is documented, but "Network not available" is
a catch-all error for any scan attempt that doesn't work. This
could be the username given is not on node B, or the TM scan
server is not running or one of several bugs like the one where
you cannot scan usernames with spaces or apostrophes. (I believe
that these bugs were fixed by various patches.)

| i had a customer with the same message, but they were using Resource
Scheduler. the problem was in the 'user name'. seems the customer had
created a name with a " in it.

49.4 | TM SCAN server not started ? | GVA05::BOULMIER | Tout est dans tout et y participe | Thu Feb 20 1992 10:51 | 11 |
| Thank for your suggestion but I will keep the .1 reply because everything
is working fine regarding the username spelling and DECNET definition of
nodes, all other Office Application like Mailbus, DECNET, work without
any problem.
I must add that node A and B have their own message router.
RE: .1 Regarding this TM SCAN server, can you tell me more about this ?
Thanks in advance,
Patrick

49.5 | scanning . . . | SHALOT::LAMPSON | Whatever ya do, ya gotta have FUN! | Thu Feb 20 1992 14:23 | 5 |
| Object 72 is used for the TM Scan server. Message Router is not
involved at all. Do a SHOW SYSTEM and you will see a TM_SERVER
process.

49.6 | TM scan works fine now ! | GVA05::BOULMIER | Tout est dans tout et y participe | Fri Feb 21 1992 14:34 | 11 |
| Yep, fount it !
The object wasn't there for an unknown reason and there is another
thing as well, the TM_SERVER processed crashed because the following
file wasn't on the system: SYS$LIBRARY:DPESHR.EXE.
No it is fixed, thank you and don't ask me why this system is not
configured correctly..!
Very best regards,
Patrick

49.7 | SCanning causes stack dump | FHOPAS::ADCWS3::Elsenheimer | Mark Elsenheimer @OHF | Tue Oct 13 1992 00:27 | 25 |
| I have been trying to SCan a few people's time as well. I can scan a
single user at a time, either local or remote. I can scan multiple local
users. When I scan multiple remote, OR a combination of local and remote,
I get a one of a few bad things:
1. A stack dump out of ALL-IN-1
2. The message "Scan Complete", and a compute-bound loop
3. The message "Scan Complete", and a stack dump out of ALL-IN-1
The scene: Internal DEC systems running the IS Toolkit (SYSTIDY/SYSUSER)
recently upgraded to ALL-IN-1 V3.0.
