ALL-IN-1 File Cabinet Report V5.0
___________________________________________________________________
1 DESCRIPTION
ALL-IN-1 File Cabinet Report (FCR) is a Packaged Application
Software Solution (PASS) which analyses the contents of the
ALL-IN-1 document database on a system. FCR provides a number
of reports as well as updating an accounting file with results of
its analysis. ALL-IN-1 system managers can use this data to review
the state of the ALL-IN-1 document database on a system and take
pro-active steps to improve the situation, if appropriate.
Documents stored in remote drawers, that is drawers
located on another system, are not processed by FCR.
1.1 FEATURES
1.1.1 Outputs
FCR V5.0 has been written to take full advantage of
the data structures used by the ALL-IN-1 V3.0 File
Cabinet, including shared drawers. It is submitted as
an ALL-IN-1 housekeeping procedure. When started up,
the FCR program reads down through the ALL-IN-1 user
profile and processes all off the documents found
in local drawers owned by each user, to create a
statistics report.
If the necessary parameters are set, FCR will examine
the mail pending file and (optionally) remove any
obsolete records found there. FCR is also able to
report on the state of the mail shared areas, noting
cases where too many files are stored in a directory,
or when the VMS directory file is too large.
FCR creates a report listing the contents of the
document database and related entities on a system.
FCR creates optionally a second report which generates
a list of documents owned by single owners, sorted by
user name.
An accounting file is maintained, containing
summarized details for each user.
1.1.2 Users
For each user the following information is reported on
each drawer :
o Name of the drawer
o The number of shared documents in the drawer
o The number of private documents in the drawer
o The total number of documents in the drawer
o The number of different folders within the drawer
o The number of disk blocks occupied by private
documents
o The number of disk blocks occupied by shared
documents (proportional to the number of users)
o The total disk blocks occupied by documents
o The size of the DAF.DAT (PDAF) for the drawer
o The size of the DOCDB.DAT for the drawer
o The overall total of disk blocks used for documents
in a drawer.
Overall totals are reported for the user, together
with a note of the folder storing most documents
within the cabinet. Counts for archived documents
and new mail waiting to be read are also reported.
1.1.3 System
A summary of all the system information is given at
the end of the report :
o Total number of users (cabinets) processed
o The total number of documents found in user
cabinets
o The total number of private documents found, plus
the percentage of private documents on the system
o The total number of archived documents
o The total number of references to shared document
found in user cabinets
o The average number of documents found in user
cabinets
o The user who has most documents in his/her cabinet,
together with a percentage overall total
o The total number of disk blocks allocated to
document files.
o Total disk space occupied by DOCDB.DAT files
o Total disk space occupied by DAF.DAT (PDAF) files
The size of the System Document Attribute Files
(SDAF). The number of global buffers set on the
file plus the RMS bucket size are also shown
o The size of the mail pending file
o The size of the ALL-IN-1 user profile
o The overall total of disk space used for the
document database
o The number of mail messages queued to be sent off
node
o The number of mail messages queued to be fetched
o The user occupying most disk space for documents
o The number of shared documents which are accessed
by only one user
o The number of documents in wastebasket folders
which are waiting to be deleted from the system
o The number of system distribution lists registered
on the system
o The number of users who are marked in the profile
as not being allowed to receive mail.
An optional report can be produced listing all the
shared documents which are accessed by a single user.
Optionally the following can also be reported :
o Number of files and VMS directory file for each of
the mail shared areas
o Details of the obsolete pending records (if any)
deleted.
1.2 DOCUMENTATION
FCR includes the following documentation:
ALL-IN-1 File Cabinet Report Installation and

| Solution Tool Description
SYSTIDY, Version 2.0
___________________________________________________________________
1 DESCRIPTION
SYSTIDY Version 2.0 is an ALL-IN-1 IOS V3.0 compatible
application intended to ease the ALL-IN-1 systems
management. It allows the site enhanced scheduling
capabilities as well as allowing the use of concurrent
multinode processing for many ALL-IN-1 "housekeeping"
functions in a VAXcluster environment. Additional
optional tasks are also included along with a
capability to easily create new tasks if desired.
Log files for individual tasks are kept for a site
specified number of runs and may be examined from
within ALL-IN-1. By use of a single batch stream to
perform all maintenance tasks, the problem of tasks
failing due to conflicts with other tasks is avoided.
A maximum run time for the total job may be specified
as well. A single mail message is sent to a choosen
mail address at the end of each run summarizing the
activity for that run.
1.1 Features
SYSTIDY provides:
o Main Maintenance Menu offering the conventional
choices plus other application specific options.
o Scheduling Tasks can be done individually.
o Managing User Quotas presents an additional menu
with three choices Manage Disk Quotas, Manage
Document Quotas, Manage VMS Quotas.
o Moving Mail Areas/Directories allows deferred moves
of either SDAFs or shared mail directories.
o Maintenance Failures are registered via a job which
may occasionally encounter errors that will cause
it to abort or just to log the errors and continue
processing the next task. The purpose of these
hooks is to allow a site to take additional action
in the event of a maintenance failure.
o Adding New Tasks is possible using the Create
option.
1.2 Documentation
SYSTIDY includes the following documentation:
o SYSTIDY V2.0 Installation Guide
o SYSTIDY V2.0 User's Guide
o SYSTIDY V2.0 Release Notes
1.3 Consulting Services
Delivery, installation, and orientation services
will be provided by the local Digital office and are
specified in the Work Statement.
