    Whilst this list is being clarified with Engineering please note
    that the Atlanta CSC considers any version of ALL-IN-1 running with
    Message Router v3.1 to be "unsupported" - though as always we don't
    turn away anyone who has this version we provide "best-effort" support.

    MR v3.1b was a Mandatory Update and is the minimum supported version
    of MR on any version of VMS.

    Ann,

    ALL-IN-1 v3.0 shipped with MR v3.2 because that is what is the current
    version of MR however it will run and is supported with v3.1b - however
    the customer really ought to upgrade to get the extra fixes/functionality
    in v3.2 particularly in MRGATE.

    So for Required read Recommended.

    Regards,

    Andrew.D.Wicks (Still has no red cards)

  NOTE 1    VMS V5.4-1, MR V3.1, ALL-IN-1 V2.4 certified 03-DEC-90.
            Please note that MR V3.1b superceded MR V3.1 as of August
            1990.

  NOTE 2 VMS V5.5 and MR V3.2 are not listed in ALL-IN-1 V2.4 SSA,
            STARTER V2.4 SSA, ALL-IN-1 V2.3 SSA or STARTER V1.0 SSA.

  	    VMS V5.5 and MR V3.2 were released after last SSA update.

            VMS A5.5 should be used rather than VMS V5.5

  NOTE 3 VMS V5.4-3 and MR V3.1b certified on 22-OCT-91 but SSAs
            for	ALL-IN-1 V2.4, STARTER V2.4, ALL-IN-1 V2.3 and STARTER
            V1.0 not updated since VMS V5.4-3 and MR V3.1b were
            released after SSA publications.

  NOTE 4    MR V3.2 FCS was NOV-91.
  	    Formal certifications by IOSG Engineering after NOV-91
            use MR V3.2 (e.g. VMS V5.5 and ALL-IN-1 V2.4).

  	    The MR V3.2 SSA supports VMS V5.4 onwards (i.e. V5.4-1,
            V5.4-2, V5.4-3). Add hoc tests of ALL-IN-1 performed by
            MIG Eng. include ALL-IN-1 V2.4 running on VMS V5.4 and
            V5.4-1.

  	    MR V3.2 therefore supported (by default) for ALL-IN-1
            V2.4, STARTER V2.4, ALL-IN-1 V2.3 and STARTER V1.0 on VMS
            V5.4-1, V5.4-2 and V5.4-3.

  NOTE 5 As Per Note 4.

  	    ALL-IN-1 STARTER V2.4 is a subset of ALL-IN-1 V2.4,
            therefore supported by default.

  NOTE 6 VMS T5.4-2 certified by IOSG, Eng. in conjunction with
  	    CPU testing on VAX 4000-30 11-FEB-92. No problems
            encountered, thus supported.

  NOTE 7 ALL-IN-1 will not be supported on V 5.5 clusters, only on
	    single node V5.5 systems. This is because some sites have
    	    experienced problems with printing when the background
	    formatter (OA$FORMATTER) is used. (See STARS article on
	    this topic.) The SSA will be amended to reflect this change.

  NOTE 8 VMS T5.5-1MA certified by ISOG, ENG on 20-MAY-92. This VMS
	    release subsequently became the SSB kit (V5.5-1), therefore
 	    supported.

  NOTE 9 VMS 5.5-2 SSB was submitted to SSB at the beginning of October 1992.
	    VMS did not require layered products to test on the SSB kit after
            certification was satisfactorily completed on the previous kit made
	    available, V5.5-S2. VMS V5.5-2 SSB is therefore supported.

  * AIS refers to ALL-IN-1 STARTER

  * Specific examples of software combinations welcomed for
            inclusion in this table.
6.7Well V6.0, seems to work OK...IOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeWed Oct 13 1993 19:2414
    Sorry, we don't do very many VMS (or indeed much of any sort!)
    certifications anymore, there aren't enough of us to do testing of
    anything apart from the new code we're developing.

    We did certify V3.0 (at least, possibly V2.4 as well) on almost the
    final version of V6.0 and it was OK. Subsequently we have discovered
    that a problem with the $SEARCH command was introduced in the SSB
    version that causes the IVPs to fail. This problem is also present in
    V6.1.

    I'm afraid I can't promise you any updates to the chart in the near
    future.

    What should have been the problem ?

6.9An explanation of the V6.0 (and early V6.1) problemIOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeMon Nov 01 1993 13:1612
    A problem was introduced into one of the very last versions of V6.0 so
    that the $SEARCH verb produced an error if its output was sent to
    something other than the terminal. This hits us when using search from
    a command procedure in the subprocess.

    This causes a number of IVPs to fail, since they get an unexpected
    status back from search, and they think that the searched for string
    isn't there.

    Perhaps you don't have the final V6.0 kit?

6.11ALL-IN-1 and MR 3.3 supported ?GIDDAY::SETHIRecompense injury with justiceTue Nov 09 1993 04:1112
    Hi All,

    I would like to know if MR 3.3 is supported with ALL-IN-1 IOS 2.4 and
    3.0 ?

    If you answer this question I will see what I can do to get you a trip
    out to Oz. It's warm, sunny and the Test Matches are going to start
    this week.

6.12We have to think positivelyAIMTEC::WICKS_AU.S.A 2 England 0 - I was there!Tue Nov 09 1993 10:3812
    Sunil,

    given that the matrix isn't going to be updated for versions of OpenVMS
    we're kind of on our own from here and are going to have to go on the
    assumption that things are supported until we hear otherwise.

    I don't believe that the product you mention has escaped from SSB yet
    so technically this is a "futures" question.

6.13Seems to be OKish so far...IOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeTue Nov 23 1993 18:1111
    We're running MR V3.3 here on our production system with the PFR, which
    as far as mail is concerned is (at the moment :-) ) pretty similar to
    V3.0.

    We'll let you know if we find any problems, whic is probably as close
    to a certification as you are going to get these days.

    Graham

    PS You might ask the MR developers why MR V3.3 isn't running on
