There's one called "The Banking Systems - PBS and CBW Demos" which is:
DEALIN::BANKING_SYSTEM (Press KP7 etc.)
The previous version of the ALL-IN-1 conference had a pointer to the
Corporate Banker's Workbench (whatever that is :-) ) which is/was:
DEALIN::CBW
But that conference seems to be members only, and I can't find out who the
moderator is. Perhaps the previous conference has a pointer, but I couldn't
obviously find it.

ABBOTT::WINDOWS_OFFICE
Welcome to the Windows Office Project notes conference. This
conference will provide communication between the Windows Office
Engineering team and others in Digital who may have an interest in the
project.
The Windows Office Client will operate both in a non-ALL-IN-1 environment
and using ALL-IN-1 as its server. As such, it represents the first
Phase II Wave 2 office product.
While the fact the Digital is interested in building and office product
for MS-Windows has been communicated to customers, the details of that
effort have not been communicated. Therefore, everything in this
conference are to be considered FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY.
As usual, nothing in this conference is to be construed as a commitment
by Digital to build anything. All products are not committed
internally until the close of Phase 1, and are not committed to
customers until product announcement.
Even though this is not an announced product, we are allowing an
unrestricted conference concerning this product because it is extremely
important that a high degree of communication be developed between the
Engineering Team and others in Digital who may have an interest in this
product.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Macintosh Office Program (MOP for short) is focused on delivering
ALL-IN-1 Phase II, Wave 2 clients for the Apple Macintosh desktop.
This conference is has three purposes:
1) Serve as a repository for working documents related to MOP.
2) Serve as a means of advertising availability of those documents and
getting feedback on their contents.
3) Provide a forum for discussion of program-level issues.
The products delivered as part of MOP must be seen by our customers
(internal and external) as part of a closely-knit family of Wave 2
clients. The patriarch of that family will be the MSWindows client, so
much of the discussion in the various windows client conferences applies
to MOP. See note 3 for pointers.
The usual disclaimers apply:
While the mere existence of this conference indicates that Digital has an
interest in building a Wave 2 product for the Macintosh, it cannot be
construed as a commitment to do so. Any specifics discussed within this
conference are just that, a discussion. Consequently, the contents of
this conference are to be considered FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY. If you need
to communicate anything about this program to anyone outside Digital
prior to availability of a PID (or product annnouncement), please
contact the marketing and/or product manager(s) responsible; see note 2
for names.

Welcome to the ALL-IN-1 Personal Assistant Support conference.
Use this conference for general discussion of APA but NOT for
official problem reports. If you do have a problem with APA use the
normal Digital channels - SPRs, CLD etc. you should then rely on this
system working.
Okay we understand that relying on the offical channels when you
have a critical problem is sometimes frustrating so in the case of a
priority problem, which has been reported, you can raise it in this
conference but abuse of this EXCEPTION processing will result in the
exception process being closed down.

================================================================================
Note 1.0 Welcome to the OBJECTworks Notesconference No replies
VNABRW::WEISSENGRUBE 270 lines 22-MAY-1991 08:34
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Integrate the Enterprise by using
OBJECTworks
The following article presents
OBJECTworks, the
NAS-based next generation
Integration-Platform for Heterogeneous Environments.
1. Basics:
1.1 OBJECTworks puts Your Desk on the screen.
OBJECTworks is heavily oriented to the natural office-environment.
There are icons for mail-in, mail-out, wastebasket, shreader,
Text, Graphic, Spreadsheet or any application You want.
All of these are called Objects.
You move Objects around on Your desk, You put them into folders or
chests, You take them out from 'mail-in', You drop them in 'mail-out'
just as You do on a real desk.
1.2 OBJECTworks puts Your organization on a database.
Within OBJECTworks You define Your entire organization onto one
database. This contains the information for any user on any platform,
which tools for textprocessing, graphics etc. he/she uses on the
particular platform, who may mail to whom, who owns objects, who may
access/create them, which converters have to be used transparently
for manipulating objects on different platforms ... and many many things
more.
The current implementation of OBJECTworks is based on Ultrix/SQL
but can be ported to e.g. ORACLE,SYBASE in a short term range.
1.3 OBJECTworks allows using MS-DOS, OS/2 and UNIX-platforms with the same
Look and Feel
Regardless whether You work on MS-DOS PC's, on OS/2 PCs or on
UNIX-Stations, You got the same functionality and Look and Feel.
OBJECTworks uses latest developments in Graphical User-Interfaces:
OSF/Motif, MS-Windows 3.0, Presentation-Manager.
1.4 OBJECTworks gives You the free choice of desktop and tools:
Not only, that You choose the appropriate desktop-environment for Your
purposes, as stated in 1.3, You also choose Your tools, best suited
for Your needs.
The database knows, which tool for textprocessing, graphics etc. was
selected by a particular user on a particular platform and provides this
service when the users double-clicks the icon. There is only one icon
for every task, but the corresponding tools for the appropriate action
are configured in the database.
To be able to mail Your objects to users using different tools, the
database knows about the converters needed and performs the conversion
on demand and transparently.
1.5 OBJECTworks is Server/Client:
All the objects created by the users are stored centrally on the server
and are fetched by the desktop only when needed. Immediately after
committing work with an object, the transfer back to the server is
performed; this is all done transparently for the user.
This relieves management from backing up the desktops - simply back
up the server.
If the PC or Workstation fails, just replace it, connect to the
net - done.
All desktop-information needed is provided via Remote-Procedure-Calls
from the server.
1.6 OBJECTworks Application-Integration with the OBJECTworks-Toolkit:
Engineering customer-specific applications using the OBJECTworks
Application-Programing-Interface provides seamless integration
of non-standard tasks into the OBJECTworks Environment.
There is no difference in the Look and Feel between these applications
and standard OBJECTworks.
1.7 OBJECTworks is NAS:
OBJECTworks uses the following NAS-Services:
Motif
SQL
Remote Procedure Calls
CDA
Terminal-Emulation
Filesharing via PCSA
DECprint via PCSA
POSIX
X.400 - Communication
1.8 OBJECTworks is based on international standards:
List of standards:
ANSI SQL
ANSI C
C++
X/Open Portability Guide
POSIX
ISO/OSI
DECnet
TCP/IP
SNA
2. Introduction to OBJECTworks:
2.1 Basically OBJECTworks consists of two major components:
The OBJECTworks-Server and the OBJECTworks-Client.
They communicate in a LAN using TCP/IP or DECnet.
OBJECTworks-Services:
- The Object-Manager
-- stores all OBJECTworks-information on a RDBMS
-- maintains all metadata about objects (even
position of the icons on the desk = screen)
This provides the ability of dynamically changing
the content of popup-menues, flowcontrol of objects,
basically all semantic information about objects
-- maintains history of objects: who created them, who
got them mailed, who opened them, where are they
right now etc.
-- controls specific flow of objects if defined in the
database
-- communicates with the Object-Manager of another LAN
(using the standard X.400-protocol)
- The Document-Manager
-- stores all Documents
-- copies data on demand to the client and vice versa
immediately after usage
-- performs the transparent document-conversions
- The Security-Manager
-- controls any access to Objects on the server
-- can be individually configured for any organization's
needs
- The Event-Manager
-- Sends Event-Messages to the User's screen at any time
without disturbing the current task.
OBJECTworks Client:
- provides the same Look and Feel on different platforms
- relieves the user from any operatingsystem-specific tasks
- objects are locally edited with your locally
installed tool ( Wordprocessing, Spreadsheet etc.)
'Locally installed tool' also refers to PCSA-Fileservices
Transfer of data from/to the server is provided transparently.
2.2 Authentication/Identification in OBJECTworks is implemented either as
user/password-control or Chipcard/PINcode.
After logging in to OBJECTworks the system presents 'Your desk' as You
left it last time (even on another platform).
This directly compares to real world as this is a basic idea
in OBJECTworks: Put the procedures of the real world as close as
possible to the screen.
2.3 All action to be performed can be selected from pull-dow/pop-up
menues or by a certain keystroke-sequence. All the content of
menues is database-defined.
2.4 Classes of Objects:
The following objects are not static but can be dynamically
changed or added or removed. Even the icons representing those
objects can be changed dynamically.
- Basic Objects: By activating these objects a certain
tool is started and connected with
particular data.
Textprocessing Which textprocessing-tool is used
by a particular user on a particular
platform is defineable
Spreadsheet - " -
etc.
- Compound Objects: This is an object that contains other
objects. By activating these objects
You gain access to the contained basic
objects or the contained compound objects
Folder
Filing-Cabinet
etc.
One of the information defined in the database
is: which objects can contain/can be contained
by which object
The following objects are contained in OBJECTworks-Installation by
default
- Compound Tools: Those tools allow to perform certain tasks
on a number of objects, not only a single
object.
Wastebasket
Mail-In-Box (private)
Mail-In-Box (departmental)
Mail-Out-Box
Search-Box (for identifying the location of a certain
object)
- Tools: Those objects are activated by moving Basic or
Compound Objects to it.
Shreader
Printer
- Service Objects: These Objects are basically contained in
any Graphical User-Interface Software
Watch
Calculator
Calendar
Terminalemulation
etc.
3. Highlights of OBJECTworks:
OBJECTworks integrates the heterogeneous environment of a
customer.
MS-DOS, OS/2 and Ultrix have been mentioned already.
Beside the Ultrix-Client, an RS-6000 Client has been
integrated already.
Communication to IBM (LU 6.2, 3270 TE, 3287 PE) and Communication to
Siemens (9750) have been integrated into OBJECTworks already; simply by
double-clicking an Icon.
OBJECTworks functionality grows every day:
Scanning, Encrypting/Decrypting of Data exchanged by server/client,
Chipcards for access-control were integrated already, beside all
the different Textprocessing-, Spreadsheet and other tools.
OBJECTworks is Object-oriented - this allows fast and powerful
development of new features, just by combining the existing
objects in a proper way.
Working with OBJECTworks means having Your Enterprise on Your desk:
OBJECTworks is far more than simply connecting PCs to servers.
OBJECTworks means integrated Enterprise-Management.

DSSDEV::TRAVIS 39 lines 6-SEP-1988 15:54

This conference is devoted to the development and refinement of
the AII (Application Invocation and Interaction) component architecture
of AIA.
As this architecture and any resulting products and network services
are UNANNOUNCED,
THIS CONFERENCE IS STRICTLY FOR DIGITAL INTERNAL USE ONLY.
Digital's Application Integration Architecture (AIA) provides a
framework for describing the development and use of software
applications in a distributed, heterogeneous systems environment. It
specifies a model for application design and integration, and it
encompasses a collection of component architectures from which derive
concrete interfaces that link applications to the underlying platform
and to each other.
The Application Invocation and Interaction Architecture (AII) is a
component architecture of AIA providing services to address the
interaction of independent applications in Digital's mainstream
computing environments, current and planned. Its focus is to provide a
model for starting and stopping applications, and rules for
communication and flow control among interoperating applications; it
specifies the framework in which inter-application communication and
process control happens.
AII deals with the following topics:
- application naming and installation
- application location and invocation
- binding of information objects to applications
- communication between applications and between information
objects

Announcing the PATHWORKS Conferencing products. These products consist of
PATHWORKS Conferencing for Windows which is a released and shipping
product. We have also just made available PATHWORKS Conferencing for DOS.
This conference will serve for bug reporting and discussion for these
products as well as future offerings that we are currently working on.
The following are rules to observe when inputting problems or suggestions.
RULES TO OBSERVE:
1. Each problem, suggestion, or question, should have its *OWN*
base note. Replies are discussions on that item. Do ***NOT***
file more than one bugreport per Base Note. Do not file bug
reports in replies. Please try to be specific and describe
exactly what to do to reproduce the problem so we can respond
quickly to fix or explain the problem.
2. @or bug reports, we recommend that you set the title on the
base note to:
BUG -- Short Abstract
Example:
BUG -- Can't Reply to a Topic
3. Anyone in the network is welcome to answer problem reports.
Remember, this conference is for DIGITAL INTERNAL USE ONLY!
If the rules are not followed we reserve ourselves the right to delete
notes from this conference, without notifying the author.

Welcome to the MOBILIZER conference. The previous incarnation of the file was
permanently lost when PCAE:: went off the air.
Since Mobilizer has lost all funding and support, this conference is to allow
those of us that use either to share tips and hints.
When and if something comes along to replace either, this conference will
ultimately be locked.
This conference is for both
MOBILIZER for ALL-IN-1, and
MOBILIZER for MAIL
Please keep to proper noting etiquette - we like clean conferences.
Enjoy!

This conference is intended to be a "shopping list" and directory of VAX
NOTES conferences on the EasyNet. Each note in this conference advertises
a conference somewhere on the EasyNet. If you see a conference that
interests you, you can add it to your notebook using the SELECT feature of
VAX NOTES. Press either the SELECT or the KP7 key and VAX NOTES will add
the conference to your notebook.
This note (note 1) sets forth the rules and guidelines for using this
conference.
All users should read what follows in this note.
Read note 1.3 for hints on finding NOTES conferences using the
information in this file.
Read note 1.4 for the rules on advertising a NOTES conference in this
file.
Read note 1.5 for advice on what to do if you are having trouble
accessing one of the conferences advertised here.
Note 1.6 has information on DNS (Distributed Naming Service) and NOTES
conferences.
EASYNET_CONFERENCES GROUND RULES AND GUIDELINES
1) Conference membership is unrestricted.
2) All information in this conference is for DIGITAL INTERNAL USE ONLY.
Do not show it to non-employees.
3) Keyword creation is unrestricted. However, before you create a new keyword,
use the SHOW KEYWORDS command to see if there already exists a similar
keyword that you could use.
4) Notes advertising a conference must follow the rules set forth in
EASYNET_CONFERENCES note 1.4. Notes that do not conform to this rule will
be deleted and mailed back to their creator.
5) Please restrict replies to important issues relevant to the notes
community as a whole. Personal communications should be done via MAIL.
6) Avoid "me too" replies. If one person has reported difficulty accessing
a conference, you add nothing but noise by putting in a reply saying that
you cannot access it, either.
7) If a user advertises a conference and forgets to set the SELECT pointer,
do not put in a reply with the pointer. The moderator reviews the file
on a daily basis and will put in the missing pointers himself. Putting
in a reply with the pointer only causes extra work for the moderator,
who must then delete your reply.
8) The moderator will periodically remove topics and replies that report
problems. The notes will be left in place for at least a week after
the problem has been resolved, but thereafter they will be removed.
Enjoy!

I'd like to announce the creation of a new conference
for the DEC MAILworks Unix product.
ABBOTT::MAILWORKS-UNIX
Note 4.1 announces our first field test release for
the Alpha/OSF1 platform.
DEC MAILworks is a program for sending, receiving
organizing, querying, and sharing multimedia messages.
Multimedia messages are electronic mail messages that
can contain not only text but faxes, images, spreadsheets,
and documents.
With MAILworks, you can organize your messages in a
facility known as a message store. You can create
a hierarchy of folders in your message store, file
your messages in the folders, and then retrieve certain
messages based on their content. MAILworks also allows you
to create group message stores for sharing messages
among a group of users.

| Since there isn't much activity in the ALL-IN-1 Personal Assistant
Support conference (IOSG::APA_SUPPORT) we've decided to set it reply
only and take support questions on APA here instead.
The old conference is retained as a reference source, and to preserve
all the wishes and philosophy it contains.

===============================================================
As of close of business today (6th May 1994), the support of the
WPS-PLUS component of ALL-IN-1 is the responsibility of the
Current Systems Engineering (CSE) section of the Integrated
Office Systems Group (IOSG), Reading, UK.
In the past the administration of problem reports was carried out
by IOSG and the investigation of these was carried out by the
WPS-PLUS engineers in Nashua, NH, USA.
Both these tasks are now the responsibility of IOSG.
Any correspondence concerning the support of the WPS-PLUS
component of ALL-IN-1 should now be directed at one of the
following people:
Martin Cook (@ REO) - IOSG Support Manager
Russell Elliott (@ REO) - ALL-IN-1 Support Engineer
Katie Bright (@REO) - ALL-IN-1 Support Engineer
The WPS-PLUS notes conference on MAGIC:: has been write-locked
and moved to IOSG::WPS-PLUS, where it can now be accessed.
The other (already write-locked) old field-test notes conferences
will be unavailable until a permanent home can be found for them.
An announcement will be made as soon as they become available
again.
Regards.
Russell Elliott, ALL-IN-1 Support Engineer.
