Hello, I am having a problem with the Decterm controller on a 3100. The user is starting a DECterm and then invoking DECTSE by typing MC DECTSE. However , when she tries to connect to a service she gets the message %DECW-E-TIMEOUT-CONTROL Timeout waiting for DECterm controller to start. Has anyone seen this before or can anyone give any clues as to why this is happening . Thanks in Advance Gary O'Dwyer (E.I.S Dublin) P.S Rebooting the Workstation has no effect!

What's DECTSE? In general you get the timeout error when there is a problem with logical names and/or mailboxes: CREATE/TERMINAL thinks there is already a DECterm controller, so it doesn't start a new one. Normally rebooting should clear this up. As the user to get a DECterm log file by putting the following command in her LOGIN.COM: $ define decw$decterm_output sys$login:decw$te.log -- Bob |
