Please excuse me if this is mentioned elsewhere in here...I looked quickly and couldn't find it. I'm running DW V3 IFT and VMS V5.4-1. I'm getting errors when Cardfiler and Calendar start up, either via autostart or from the Applications menu. Calendar gives me: >$ SE >X Toolkit Warning: I18NOpenFile: Couldn't open file his_reg_Any - MrmNOT_FOUND This is not too bad, as I can eventually dismiss the message window and the Calendar continues to run. Cardfiler gives me: >?GetValue failed -- status = Invalid Object >?GetValue failed -- status = Invalid Object >X Toolkit Warning: I18NOpenFile: Couldn't open file his_reg_Any - MrmNOT_FOUND This is more of a problem, as the message window does not change to a state where I can dismiss it. I can perform a STOP TASK, but this naturally stops the application. Cardfiler runs ok, but I have this extra icon hanging out in the icon box. I see that this has been QARed. Would a reasonable workaround be to supress the popup? Thanks, - Dave

3678.1 | Try running HyperSession | RTL::PAVANELLO | Andr Pavanello | Mon Nov 19 1990 11:05 | 22 |
>X Toolkit Warning: I18NOpenFile: Couldn't open file his_reg_Any - MrmNOT_FOUND Calendar and Cardfiler have integrated with the MEMEX Services. This warning message comes from the MEMEX Services code and is the result of an undesired Toolkit feature. It has been QARed. There is no work around. >?GetValue failed -- status = Invalid Object >?GetValue failed -- status = Invalid Object These messages are (probably) generated because the HyperInformation Environment has not been setup. To do this, run the HyperSession application if you want these applications (i.e., Calendar, Cardfiler, Mail and Bookreader) to participate in your HyperInformation Environment. For more information concerning the MEMEX Services, see the MEMEX conference (CLT::MEMEX, for general information) and the MEMEX-BUGS (CLT::MEMEX-BUGS) for bug reports. Thank you, Andr.
3678.2 | I did! | NECSC::LEVY | Closer to fine | Mon Nov 19 1990 11:57 | 20 |
I did try running HyperSession. I found it to be completely non-intuitive. I finally got my history file created, and don't plan on playing around with this any more until I have some time. > application if you want these applications (i.e., Calendar, Cardfiler, > Mail and Bookreader) to participate in your HyperInformation Environment. ...and if I don't? I just have to live with the message? Bookreader doesn't complain, by the way. > For more information concerning the MEMEX Services, see the MEMEX > conference (CLT::MEMEX, for general information) and the MEMEX-BUGS > (CLT::MEMEX-BUGS) for bug reports. Another QAR system? Sigh. - Dave
3678.3 | EFT Calendar won't complain | CLT::KOBAL::FERWERDA | Displaced Beiruti | Tue Nov 20 1990 11:49 | 5 |
EFT Calendar won't complain that hypersession needs to be run. MEMEX pulldown entries may not work but there won't be any complaints. Paul |
