I have a display problem with Decwindows on a VS3100 running VMS 5.4. This problem occurs when I run DECmcc on the workstation. In one of the display windows I have short vertical lines through the lines of text (proportional text). These lines are of different width on the different lines of text. It also has problems handling the line of text being selected and then unselected. It often leaves it being blacked out. The problem is with the Decwindows server software and not the client as I can display on other Decwindows servers without the same problem occuring. Any ideas, suggestions, solutions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Jill Finch

Thanks for narrowing down the problem to the DECwindows server. The next step is to figure out if the problem is in the device dependent code or not. Could you try your experiment with different types of VMS servers? There are three types to try: 1. MFB (typically a B&W VS2000) 2. GPX 3. SPX Of course, it is also possible to have corrupted files cause strange problems. Therefore, you should also try a different system with the same configuration as yours. |
