3648.0. "FileView and Decterms problem" by TAV02::ITAMAR_E () Tue Nov 13 1990 09:50

Hi,

I want to introduce to you a strange behavior of the FileView with DCL
windows and Decterms. The problem can be reproduced both in VMS V5.3-1
and 5.4. Please follow the following steps:

1. Create a DCL window from the FileView.
2. Create a Decterm window from the fileview.
3. Close the DCL window using the DCL LOGOUT command.
4. Create another DCL window from the fileview.
5. Create another Decterm window from the fileview.
6. Close the DCL window using the DCL LOGOUT command.
7. Now the DCL window will disappear but for some reason the First
   created Decterm will die with it also. According the accounting file
   the process termination status is 0. No further information.

Does anybody have any ideas? ANY help is welcome.

thanks,

Itamar.

    'Tis strange all right; I can reproduce it here as well. Please QAR it
    so that we remember to investigate and fix this.

    Thanks,
    Alfred

I would call this a FileView bug. Easy fix though:

In the file SYS$COMMON:[VUE$LIBRARY.SYSTEM]VUE$DECTERM.COM change:

	$ create/terminal/window=(rows=24)

to

	$ create/terminal/window=(rows=24)/detach

    Thanks both of you,

    If a QAR is still needed please tell me in which DB to open it?

    Thanks again,

    Itamar.
