I use paint and save a .ddif file. I get application ACE on the files like this, $dir/sec .ddif MY_CLOCK.DDIF;2 (APPLICATION,SIZE=%D25,FLAGS=%X0E03,ACCESS=%X00010000,DATA=%X00140000, %X00010002,%X00000002,%X03010302,%X00000001) Can anyone point me to some documentation to this, or explain what this means and who use it?! Thanks, Marie

I believe that that is the "RMS Stored Semantics: DDIF" tag, but I don't know why it shows up with DIR/SECU. Steve

Re .1 because no one changed DIR/SECU to special case the ACE.

There is another type of ace that a application called pacer creates. Like, TMP.DIR [PROJ] (rwe, rwe,,) (IDENTIFIER=KALLE,OPTIONS=%X0002,ACCESS=READ+EXECUTE) ^ | How handel vms this when Kalle tries to access a file in the directory. Translate it or if he cant, ignores it or says no to Kalle because he cant translate.????? If I try to create a file with this type of ace, its not accepted as a valid 'code'/ace option. Ideas Thanks Marie |
