3640.0. "EVE window definition" by SUBWAY::OBERLE () Mon Nov 12 1990 12:03

    	For some reason or another, whenever DECterm starts on my system,
    it comes up with tiny fonts. I've figured out how to change that from
    the "Customize" menu. I've also figured out how to get a 36 line
    terminal window.

    	EVE and LSEDIT similarly come up with a window of 24 linies of
    eye-aching michrofiche sized text. Can someone tell me how I might
    change that? What I'd really like to do is set that up initially, so
    that when I start one of them from the Autostart menu, it will come up
    with a large screen with readable text.

    	I know absolutely nothing about DECwindows; everything I've just
    implied that I'm familiar with has been derived by poking around. I
    just started with DEC and with DECwindows. At my last job, I enjoyed
    long lunch hours waiting for MMS to build .EXEs on our deluxe 750 via
    VT-220 terminials.

3640.1Use CREATE /TERMINALRT93::ANDERSONEverything counts in large amountsWed Nov 14 1990 17:326
You can define a new application via the Session Manager Customize Application
Definitions function. See HELP CREATE /TERMINAL for how to customize each
DECterm's appearance. Add the definition and then add it to AutoStart and/or
the Applications Menu.

3640.2EVE, not DECtermSUBWAY::OBERLEMon Nov 26 1990 09:206
    That's okay for setting up a DECterm, but what about modifying the
    window characteristics when using the EVE application, via the DCL
    command "EDIT/TPU/DISPLAY=DECWINDOWS"? I want to get the fancy scroll
    bars around EVE's editing windows.

    Thanks!					- Jerry Oberle

    DECwindows EVE gives you scroll bars. What are fancy scroll bars?

    In general, there is no way to change DECwindows EVE characteristics,
    though you can always use the unsupported .DAT files.
