3627.0. "SmPauseWindow() for DECwindows V3" by PSW::WINALSKI (Careful with that VAX, Eugene) Fri Nov 09 1990 21:53

Have your Xfish turned up their noses at the pause screen since you put up
VMS DECwindows V3? Well, despair no longer. Digitalsoftwa Reengineering
is proud to present TLE::ULNK$:[WINALSKI.X.XNEKO]SMPAUSEWINDOW.C, a version of
the infamous SmPauseWindow() function that knows how to find the Session
Manager pause window for VMS DECwindows V3. Feel free to copy this file and
incorporate it in your applications.

My thanks to Richard Critz, who did the research to discover the distinguishing
characteristics of the V3 pause window.

Does it work for the older version too, or is it specific to V3?

3627.2Locating Ultrix 4.x pause window?ELLI::peuraPekka Peura, Unix-Focus/HelsinkiTue Nov 13 1990 07:213
Another question. Does it work on Ultrix 4.x. I've been unsuccessfully
trying to find code to locate Ultrix pause window. (and have been busy
/lazy enough not to code it my self)

RE: .1

It's specific to DECwindows V3; won't work on previous versions. When I get the
time, I'm going to write a "pause window sniffer" version that will look for
the V1/V2 pause window if it can't find the V3 version. It will also try both
VMS and Ultrix pause window configurations.

RE: .2

This doesn't work for ULTRIX V4 DECwindows. I don't have ready access to a
DECwindows V4 system to experiment with, nor do I have the time at present
to play with this stuff, anyway.
